Hello, Goodbye
On the train from some part of Sri Lanka to the airport to get to india India!
So we have finally reached the one place I have been dreaming to come for years. INDIA! I’ve been to a lot of big countries but India has always fascinated me because of its rich culture and awesome food. Also, I’ve never been to a Hindi country before so I was ready for a culture shock. I also decided not to be an ignorant traveler so I brushed up on my understanding of India. I read the Baghavad Gita (most famous religious story about Lord Krishna) did some lonely planet homework, read up on the national hero Mahatma Ghandi and watched Slumdog Millionare again! Haha. We arrived yesterday here in Chennai on a Sunday so the streets were fairly free since many people stayed at home. But once we got to the night market… it was packed! It’s twice as big as Shr Lin night market but also twice as packed. Everything was extremely cheap. I bought a Dan Brown book, Deception Point, for less than $2 from a street vendor.
The women here wear a beautiful traditional dress of every color, they look amazing! Every single women wears it and the men wear whatever they want. People here
are nice but definitely not as friendly as Sri Lankans. We were the center of attention in Sri Lanka because we were the only Asians they’ve ever encountered. But here, they have a little more variety of different people so not EVERYONE is staring at us. The reason I say they are not as nice because I feel that they are haggling us all the time and pretending to be super friendly but I know they are really just trying to get some cash outta me. Like, when I step out of the hotel, there are 6 taxi drivers swarming me and talking about all this bullshit. They try to overprice me….. how foolish of them, little do they know that Shr Lin night market is my second home, the home of bargaining. Whatever they say, I give them this ‘are you crazy’ look and cut the price by half, then they get all jumpy and say its not possible… that’s when I point to a random other guy and bluff, “he says its possible, maybe I’ll go to him” haha, that’s when they panic and say yes! GOTCHA! People here are a lot more aggressive than I’m used to
India!, chennai night market
this night market was insannee. so crowded but I understand their need to be because there are so many people in this city. But damn, can’t I just say ‘no’ once and not 6 times before you leave me alone? Other than those who are trying to get money from me, the other people are super friendly, I love it! Today, we leave Chennai and head towards Mamahallapuran!

dried cow shit? you know they make paper (that is odorless) out of elephant dung. that alone convinced me that your dried cow shit probably has infinite possibilities of becoming something legit.
