Today we got up very early because we wanted to have breakfast. i didn't really get a lot of sleep because it took me forever to get to sleep. For Breakfast, I had some yogurt, coffee, of course, and some bread, a slice with jam and one with butter! It was really good. i also had some kakao, which is cocoa and it tasted a lot like Swiss Miss and it really wasn't that chocolaty. I then went back to our room and quickly put on some clothes, as we had to be out of the room by 9am so that they could clean it. We went back to tube station, got some money out at the ATM and bought a 24 hour tube pass. Our first stop was to Karlplatz in downtown Vienna, but when we got out of the tube we were a bit confused so, we got back on and went to Stephanplatz, or St. Stephan's Cathedral. We walked around the church and it was pretty nice. This was another different kind of church. It felt very touristy and market-like but it also felt very reverant. I was wondering if this was the church where the crown of st. Stephan was given to the emporer, but i never found out. As I am still a bit confused about it to this day! After leaving the interior, we walked out side and some guys from an opera house kept harassing us to buy a ticket to the opera going on that evening. Jacqueline was not the least bit interested, as she felt it was a very sketchy way to do business, but i wanted to look into it. We ended up not doing it, and I am still disappointed about that but whatever. Also, in the square there were many horse drawn carriages as you could take a tour of the city by carriage...for like 60 euro!!! A bit too much for our budget! So, we just kept walking around the square and saw that we could climb the tower of the cathedral, so we did it. We climbed about 2,000 steps! We we finally got to the top it was a great view, as it was a great day with great weather!!! And then we climbed back down again...and my legs felt like rubber! It really was a workout! Geez, was it ever! Then, we started off looking for the Hofsburg Castle. Randomly we did come across it but decided not to go in as it was too nice, so we walked around the outside and in the gardens! Simply Amazing! And when it is all green and all the flowers have bloomed it must look like heaven, because it was very gorgeous there without those things! And the weather smelt like spring too! It was a great day...Then we were on our way to the Maria Theresa Gardens. Maria Theresa was can probably be considered the mother of europe, as she had 16 children and was the emporess of the Austrian-Hungarian Empire and she was married to Leopold, the Holy Roman Emporer! Yea it was really nice there too...so then we kept walking around the ground of Hofsburg. And we saw an Islamic group's anti-war protest and we decided to turn around and go the other way... good thing to because we walked through some really cool courtyards. and in one of the walkways there was a man singing Ave Maria Opera style and he didn't even want money for it, even though he looked like a street performer. He had not hat, nothing out to collect funds and his voice was simply heavenly, i thought it was a recording at first. Then, in the next walkway we came to a cello player. That was cool too. After that we walked around the neighborhood. I noticed that where we were walking it was very quiet, my initial feeling was an eery one, but then as we kept walking the quietness felt right, as it shoud be. We then walked through another park and here we saw the most adorable yorkie puppy...he was so cute and he was walking as if he was in trouble. It was so funny cuz when his master stopped to yell at him, he looked up and realized he was being yelled at so he looked away from his master...it was so cute because I could totally see Taz doing the same thing!!! Knowing exactly when he was in trouble...Oh i miss my little pup...And it was a good laugh to see that too...then we walked through a park where they were still had an ice rink up and people were skating on it. We walked by the famous opera house and the found our way back to the tube and got on

it to go to Schonbrunn.
Schonbrunn was one of the palaces of the Habsburgs. The Most famous person to live there was Maria Theresa and then Franz Josef I. First we walked around the gardens there, and there were really cool! And it was so warm and so beautiful. We then decided to take the tour of Schonbrunn that included both the rooms of Franz Josef and Maria Theresa. It was truly magnificient. I had no idea what to think or what to expect and it was wonderful! After we got done with the tour, we were exhausted and we walked back to our hostel and took a nap. After we got up we wanted to find some great Vienese cuisine. The lady at the desk was not very helpful, but luckily we ran into a girl from St. Louis Park, MN who lives in Austria and works as an English teacher. She was at the hostel with her mother and she really wanted to go to this restaurant, but they were still really jetlagged so she gave us the name of the place and direction so we could go there instead. So, we went to that restaurant and honest to God, the best food ever! SO GOOD! and SO Filling and the wine was really good too!!! I didn't know that Vienna had good wines. But it probably was the best meal of my life! So good!
Then we went back to the hostel and showered and went to bed! For we had to wake up again early the next morning...cuz tomorrow we're off to Prague, Czech Republic.
