We were up early to go to Hanauma bay to go snorkeling. We got free snorkel gear from the hostel and then caught the bus up to the bay. We had to wait in a bit of a line and then watch a safety video so you dont wreck any of the reef or disturb any of the marine life.
We found a shady spot to sit and threw on some sunscreen and then walked down to the beach. It took us a while to get all our gear on and get it on right haha. The waves were really strong. Put our fins on and swam around a bit. I saw a couple of cool fishes including the state fish (Humuhumunukunukuapua’a) which I now know how to say. I was having trouble keeping water out of my mask so I kept getting salt water in the eye and then in my mouth which made me gag haha. Takes a bit to get used to snorkeling.
We did a couple of rounds of snorkeling and then caught the bus back into Waikiki. Had a shower and cleaned up and then walked over to the International Market. I bought a
turtle necklace with a flower which is a design I wanted for a tattoo.
We had a drink at the Tree House Cafe. I had a pina colada smoothie served inside a pineapple. It was delish! And we all got to share the fresh pineapple from inside. Best pineapple ever. A couple of other girls had fresh coconuts and drank the juice inside.
Walked around a bit more before going out for dinner overlooking the water. Jenny and I had to get back to the hostel to pack up all our gear as we have to check out tomorrow.
