Free time and Shopping

I thought I was being nice today by allowing the boys to sleep in and meet downstairs at 11am. Somehow there were still at least six boys who were not even awake yet when we were supposed to meet. They must be staying up too late in their rooms. This will change when we get to Hungary as they will be so exhausted from all the training they won’t have any choice but to crash at night.

We ventured out towards the Trevi Fountain and the area we had been at two nights ago with all the street vendors. I gave everyone two hours to walk around and shop and eat. Most of the guys bought souvenirs for family and friends back at home. The popular item seemed to be the Italia Soccer (Futbol) jersey with their particular water polo number on it. And don’t worry Renee I bought a bunch of items for the banquet as well.

The boys have some free time for the rest of the day to walk around town or take naps before we meet up for dinner. Tomorrow we have already booked a tour of the Vatican which should be a great experience. I know some of the boys may not be as interested in this stuff right now at their age, but hopefully they will appreciate the entire experience at some point. Who knows the next time they will get back to Rome. And now when they study these places in both high school and college they will have a little better idea having been here. I will say they have been very well behaved so far, we just have to work on the wake-up calls.
