Thank goodness for my few days rest in Valencia because IBIZA has a life of it's own and you can not help but get caught up in the chaos and party that they deliver. I must start by letting you know about my initial pre-Ibiza plan. I was meeting Jessica, an old friend from primary school and we said we would go to 2 clubs because entry fees are 50 euros + and then spend the rest of our 9 days beaching and going to bars. We did accept the fact that we were there for the night life but I don't think anything can ever prepare you for Ibiza night life. We initially stayed at San Antoni Bay which I would not recommend to anyone. It is 100% english with their sausages and eggs for brekkie and the Irish pub on the corner! YUK! We booked there because it was cheap but in hindsight it cost lots to transport around the island from there so wasn't really cost effective. Once Jess arrived we set out to buy our entry tickets to the club and decided that instead of 2 we would go to 3 cause we both had places we

wanted to go and 3 would be a fair compromise. The first two nights we chilled. We grabbed some cider and headed to Cafe Del Mar which is where everyone goes to watch the sunset. It's a great place to meet people, which we did, but as soon as the sun sets the place is abandoned. It was a good sunset but I don't think anything will ever beat my sunset at the Chobe river in Africa. Unbelievably I saw Andy, Vanessas husband, who was in Ibiza for a stag weekend. I knew he was going but didn't think we would see each other so soon. Jess and I hung around the bars into the night and were bombarded by 18 year olds who thought we were beautiful spanish girls! then we headed home for an early night in preparation for the big weekend ahead.
The following day we went to San antoni beach which is the worst beach I have ever been too and then took an afternoon nap. We headed to our first club, Pacha, at about midnight on the Disco Bus. For 3 euros it takes you directly to each club and back home. We soon realised that in Spanish time midnight was far to early to be seen in any club as things did not pick up until 3 am but it was worth the wait! WOW! what a place! Minimal white everywhere and stunning dancers in every corner.Even girls in barely nothing dancing in large champagne glasses. It was sooooooo funny watching all the boys jaws drop as they walked past the chamapgne beauties. At one point Jess and I got a little in ore watching them move in such a small space lol. Jess and I scored big time with an invite into the VIP area. We met these New York rich boys who were celebrating there first night on the town and the champagne flowed endlessly. They appeared to good to be true and after meeting up with them the following 3 nights my preminitions were true! But thats another story all together. Back to Pacha....... it is like a whole other world. Beautiful people everywhere and money galore. Jess brought a vodka lemonade and it cost her 15 euros. I had a vodka red bull for 17 euros. The prices were a joke and we quickly learned to do 2 things. Drink

at the apartment before we left and find some rich VIP's who were feeling generous! he he he
The following night we was supposed to be a chill night but we loved Pacha so much that we purchased more tickets and headed there for another night. Again it was just as much fun and will probably be my most memorable night in Ibiza....... no all clean and good! This time we got there at around 2am which was much better and we didn't walk out until 7am. It really plays havoc on your body clock. The worst part was getting home cause the disco bus would take us to San Antoni and then we would have to catch a cab from there to the bay. We wouldnt get home until about 8.30am and then we would draw the curtains and sleep until about midday. We spent the day at a much nicer beach called Calla Bassa but beacuse it was a sunday there were lots of families and kids. Just the type of situation two teachers like to relax in. Luckily the beach was crystal blue and the water was the perfect tempreture. Jess and I began to develp a bit of a routine by this point. It was back to the apartment and sleep till about midnight then up for showers and getting ready to hit the clubs.
On Sunday night the lucky place was called SPACE! What a place, so huge with about 5 different dance rooms. We stayed in the main rooma and of course the VIP area. Met some cute boys and SERGIO who clearly had trouble remembering his name cause he had it tattooed across his belly. Spanish boys can be very confident and Sergio had not trouble in that department. The music and light show was amazing but after 4 hours the feet started to hate the heels and I was feeling worn out. Not to mention dissapointed in my NY boys who had moved onto new girls...... but thats half the story and we were in IBIZA! I thought space was incredible but it was no Pacha. I got talking to one of the security gaurds there and he works for the summer only but everynight. He was telling me that he makes enough money in the 4 months to support him the rest of the year. Working in the VIP area had added bonuses as many often slipped him extra money for special favours. AMAZING!
The following morning I awoke with a really bad cold and not feeling the best but a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do and I was only gonna be in Ibiza once in my life. So I bummed around most of the day by the hotel pool. That morning Jess and I decided we were fed up with the long drives back to San Antoi Bay so we cancelled the rest of our accomodation and re-booked Ebano apartments on the other side of the island in Playa Den Bossa. This was the place to be! After re-organising our accomodation we made preperations for another big night. To my disgust Jess loves to walk so she took off for a long walk and we met for our usual 7pm sleep. Tonight we were heading to the largest club in the world PRIVLEDGE. Famous DJ TIESTO was providing the tunes and we were looking forward to a night of dancing. PRIVLEDGE is an interesting club. I would call it more of a warehouse. It is one huge factory and the DJ's mix there music on a platform in the middle of a pool. It is a spectacular sight and TIESTO did not dissapoint. Even his light show was incredible. Unfortunatley the room was sooooooo hot so Jess and I popped outside for some fresh air. To buy a small bottle of water cost 6 euros which is like 12 aussie dollars. CRAZY! But we really needed it. We were two of the lucky ones who actually found a seat and once you find somewhere to plonk your bum you dare move. LOL While we were sitting there this guy near us decided to pass out. It was incredibly quick and he awoke within a few minutes but he was really unsure of what was going on so we told him to sit down. Turned out to be this really lovely South African guy called Gavin. He was travelling with his mate Simo who was freally concerned for his friend. They had purchased some unknown substances and were deeply regretting their actions. But we had a great chat and after about 2 hours we all went back into the club for TIESTOs final set. He finished at 7am and so did we. We caught a cab home and fell asleep for a few hours until another cab came and got us and took us to our new place EBANO. Thank heaven for small mercies. We were now in prime location, minutes walk to Bora Bora beach and close to all the action. We even had a luxury pool and lots of young people staying at the joint. After settling in our new pads we wasted no time and being the troopers that we are we headed to a day bar called the Blue Marlin.
It is really hard to describe what you actually get at the Blue Marlin. The cab takes you to this place in the middle of nowhere and you basically walk into exclusi-ville. What a sight! Again beautiful people, gorgeous decore, pumping music, day beds, Moet Chandon beds and money, money. money. Jess and I pretended that we were one of the elite and began drinking cocktails. (btw we do belong there!) The disaster struck when a very old rich man took his chance and joined our table grrrrrrrr. BART! BART! BART! What an interesting fella. He had lived in Ibiza for 11 years and was a architect to the stars, well this was what he proclaimed. The conversation was very artificial surfacy and in the 2 hours that he sat with us and did not get the message he told me that I was not his type, I needed to get my teeth whitened and my toenails were painted poorly ha ha ha basically he wanted me bad! LOL and he tried ....... but didnt get very far. Not even his fancy car could do it for me........ whatever it was. But in the end Barts true true colours showed when after asking us if we wanted a drink and ordering for himself when the cheque came, he did not pay a cent! I was furious and Bart was no longer my style either so I ignored him the rest of the night and he finally got the message. Someone please tell me? WHY DO MEN ALWAYS TRY EVEN WHEN YOU ARE JUST CHATTING. Why can't they ever be satisfied with a good conversation grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
After Bart finally got the message we joined the other end of the ladder and met a large group of 25 year old sweedish guys. They were fantastic and fun. We hung with them till midnight then I headed home for 'an early night'. Jess was atrooper and joined them for a night at Amnesia, crazy girl. I was thankful for the extra sleep because the next day we got up early. 10 am, and took a boat to Formentera. What a beautiful place and the best beaches I have seen so far. The bluest water I have ever seen and yachts and luxury boats galore. I was in people watching element. People getting dropped of to shore by the smaller boats that were attached to their luxury liners. More tanned and toned bodies than you could poke a stick at and the whitest of white sand. It was stiffling hot and Jess was struggling after another night out so we headed home early and began our usual routine. It was our last night in Ibiza and we wanted to go out big! Where should we head to but of course PACHA! Another fab night with no VIP entry but just raw dancing. We spotted Gavin and Simo the South Africans and hung with them a bit but all in all another great night was had.
In the morning we had to check out but our flights were not till midnight so we did the check out thing then went and sat by our luxury pool. Gain and Simo came and joined us as they were flying out that day as well. After a few hours by the pool we all headed down to Bora Bora beach which is the beach to be seen at! There are defiently lots of pretty people but the beach is disgusting, slimy and lots of seaweed. I understand why people go there but. We took ourselves into the Bora Bora section and had a yummy lunch and before we knew it we were caught up in a fab beach party. It was sooooooo much fun and we drank alot. Loads of people dancing in bikinies and having a great time. I have to mention the european men in their itty bitty togs.... a sight well worth the stare! Could not believe that I was getting on a plane in 3 hours. Wish we had gone there earlier in our trip but better late than never.
We finally dragged ourselves away from the fun and headed to the airpot. This was were Jess and I were parting ways, both heading to Greece but for different reasons and destinations. I was sad to say goodbye but looking forward to my next journey. The trek to Greece was harendous! My plane arrived in Madrid at 1 am in the morning and then I chose to sleep at the airport. My flight to Athens was not until midday and then it was delayed until 4pm. It was a long 24 hours but I finally made it in one peice and looking forward to another 3 showers.LOL
