Auckland! Arrived here at about 9.30 pm and eventually got into my room at about 11pm. Fortunately for me the nice people there let me turn on the lights so i didn't kill myself tripping over the obstacle course set between the door and one available bed. Anyway. Spent the first day wandering the city, mostly up and down Queen St, the many shoppingy street nearby. Had a look at the north docks and such. Today i hunted down a second hand book shop and picked up the exact book i was hoping to find, which was nice. Lounged about for a while after that, found something to eat etc. Sidenote: Starbucks make the best hot chocolate ever. EVER. This evening i went up the Sky Tower. Got a reduction because i'm a student, which made it even better. Had been advised to go up in the evening, which proved good advice. I got some pics of the city by day(ish), dusk, and night. All for one ticket price. Glass flooring one the observation deck was awesome. More so for the number of people who had to hang on to things with both hands before setting a toe on it. Gonna
try and upload some photos now before my time runs out.
Bye!

Hi Matt, Mum and I first saw these in between patients at work - we've got broadband there now - and it was a real tonic. Sheila will be pleased to see the beach. See you in Oz. Toothdad
