Edit Blog Post
Well, I have started this blog to be able to share details about my time in the UK. My company has sent me here for about 6 months to work on a couple of projects. I am really excited about this since I have family nearby. I will be living in Reading, Berkshire and working in Bracknell, Berkshire.
So, I left the USA on Sunday evening. The flight was good and we even got in a little bit early. I got through immigration without too many problems and all of my bags arrived. My driver was waiting for me and he brought me to my flat. It is really nice. It's a one bedroom flat and is fully furnished. I plan to post some pictures later this week. I walked over to a grocery store to pick up some food and tea. :-) I also managed to unpack everything and get somewhat organized. I stayed up until about 8:30 when I totally crashed (which wasn't bad since I wasn't able to sleep on the plane).
This morning, I took the train to Bracknell. One of my coworkers met me at the station and we walked over to the office. Everyone there has been really good about showing me around the office and the immediate area. I also picked up my rental car. Yes, I am going to be driving over here. It was pretty funny. I got in on the correct side of the car, but automatically reached for the seatbelt over my left shoulder (instead of my right). This evening, I followed a coworker back to my flat. Hopefully, I will be able to find my way back to the office tomorrow morning! Thankfully, the office provided me with a GPS, so that should help.
