We must be living right or something because when we woke up this morning the sun was shining and it was another beautiful day. It was so late when we got here last night we really couldn’t see much but we were able to catch a glance this morning and Shubie Park Campground seemed to be a pretty nice place. There were little kids playing on the swing set, all types of dogs being walked by their owners and then there was Martha Stewart across from us cooking up her family some bacon and eggs for breakfast. Boy did she make me look bad !! I’m sorry, I can’t help it, I don’t cook on vacation ! Maybe a bowl of oatmeal or cereal and a sandwich here and there but I ain’t about to break out no bacon, eggs, pancakes and all that stuff. I’m on vacation too ya know ! Oh well, after everyone made me feel like a crappy Mom, we headed off to the showers. I must say that even though we have to pay to take a bath, it has definitely been worth it. The water pressure always seems to be good and the water is
sooooo hot. It’s worth a few quarters to be able to get a decent shower in the morning. Now doing your hair is another story. Just as Lynn and I were almost done blow drying our hair, we tripped the breaker in the women’s bath house. She looked at me and I looked at her and we just unplugged everything and took off out the door. We didn’t want anyone to know it was us so we trotted back to the motor home to finish up our hair and no one ever knew it was us. Tim had a big day planned for us so we all pitched in to get everything ready so we could hit the road. As I was tying my tennis shoes, I heard a noise that I knew sounded familiar, and it wasn’t a good kind of familiar. It was the sound of wood cracking and all of sudden it hit me, it was Jason trying to pull in the living room slide but he forgot to check to make sure the drivers chair was pulled forward so the slide hit the chair and it broke off a piece of the trim work. He just
kinda held the piece of wood in the air and stared at it and asked Tim if there was any glue anywhere so he could try to fix it. Well, it wasn’t that big of a deal and we didn’t have any glue so we just saved the piece of wood and made our way on down the road. We were headed to a place in Nova Scotia called Peggy’s Cove. Tim and Lynn had researched it and said that we had to go see it and one of Heidi’s friends had told her about it so it was a must. Unfortunately, I must report that on the drive over to Peggy’s Cove another bird met its fate with Big Bertha. Yes, that’s bird number two for the trip and hopefully it had a quick and painless death like bird number one and they are both together in little birdie heaven. We began to see signs that told us we were getting close but nothing could prepare us for the natural and geological wonder we were about to encounter. As we began to enter the township we could just feel our bodies relaxing as we watched the waves crashing onto
the huge boulders near the shoreline. I could definitely see why so many painters and photographers were inspired to come there year after year. There was a lighthouse at the end of the rocks but we couldn’t get very close due to construction work that was being done on it to help restore it to its natural state. At this point, I have officially changed my plans and I would now like to move to Peggy’s Cove instead of Prince Edward Island. This was one of the most magnificent views I have ever seen in my life, it was just like what you would see on a postcard. It ranks right up there with The Grand Canyon and Yellowstone National Park in my opinion. We stayed there on the cove for a while and enjoyed a delicious lunch at the local restaurant called Sou’Wester. After lunch, Tim walked down towards the ocean and found him a big rock where he laid down and took a little catnap while the rest of us shopped in the gift shop and did some exploring of our own. There was a female college student there on the cove, right in the midst of everything,
and she was playing the sweetest music on her bagpipes. We were all enjoying the experience but I think Tim was pretty much close to heaven. Laying on the rocks, listening to the bagpipes, dozing in and out, yea that was pretty close to heaven for him ! When Tim awoke from his nap, the five of us walked through the town, grabbed a homemade ice cream, took a million pictures and then made our way back to the motor home. I could’ve stayed there forever but unfortunately it was time to go. On the drive back to the campground we all began to realize that this was going to be our last full day together and we were getting kind of sad. Tim and I didn’t want them leave and they didn’t want to go either. They had even checked on postponing their flights the night before but it just didn’t work out so they would be leaving us tomorrow afternoon. We were sad but we had to make the best of what time we had left so what better to do than go gambling ! Tim drove us back to the Shubie Park Campground in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia
where we parked the RV and called a cab to come pick us up. The driver they sent for us was a little on the strange side but we took our chances and went with him anyway. It turns out he wasn’t a little strange, he was a LOT strange. This guy was out there and I mean waaaayyyyy out there ! We had to make one last stop before we could go gambling because there was a place that Tim and Lynn had found for us to visit. It was the Halifax Citadel National Historic Site of Canada. I’m not afraid to say that I was not thrilled about going to see the Citadel cause it’s just not my cup of tea but, I was pleasantly surprised. Since I didn’t know a thing about it, when we arrived there I went straight to the theatre to watch the twenty minute film presentation while the others spread out and began to explore. I must say this place was full of military history and my experience there was pleasant and very informative. Once we were done with the grand tour of the Halifax Citadel, we made our way down the steep
hill, onto Brunswick Street and eventually into a small pub there in downtown Halifax. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner and then began walking the streets of Halifax until we eventually came to the casino. It was party time ! Tim and Lynn love gambling and there was no stopping them now. The five of us stayed there for several hours and had the time of our lives. Even though Me, Tim and Lynn lost money, we were happy that Jason and Heidi had won. YAY ! We hailed a cab to take us back to the campground and boy did we hail a cab ! Jerry from Halifax was his name and laughter was his game. This crazy old man had us cracking up from the moment we got in his car until the moment he dropped us off. Shoot, we were still laughing about him when we fell asleep. He was a toothless, wise crackin’, joke telling old man and he was hilarious. Well, we had another fabulous day with the crew but it was time to hit the sack because tomorrow was going to be our last day together and we wanted to make the best of it.
We all snuggled into bed and were fast asleep. It’s off to the airport tomorrow and who knows what’s after that, we’ll just have to wait and see. God Bless and Good Night !

Did he like it?
I have to know...did Tim enjoy his lobster? I know he's anti -seafood, so I'm VERY curious to know if he'll be requesting Red Lobster for dinner out. Pictures are beautiful!
