Jon did not sleep the night before his big Ironman. We met up with Brian and Erica around 5am. I walked Jon to his transition area and then to the swim start. All the athletes were in the water and the race started at 6:30am. It was the hottest day in Nice and there was no breeze. I got a perfect spot to cheer and see everyone come out of the water. Jon jumped on his bike and had a long climbing bike ride and then a long marathon. Jon was happy to have finished despite the flat tire and slow time. After his 2 I.Vs, the fireworks went off and the 16 hours cut off was up and it was time to celebrate.

Everyone was hobbling around the next day and we spent most of the day relaxing and eating. We didn’t want to walk so we got in the car and drove to St. Paul de Vence. Everything seemed to be closed on Monday so we just had a quick lunch and headed back to Nice. We had dinner at Blue Beach Club. The next day we Jon, Brian and I jumped in the car and drove to St. Tropez to meet Tiffany and Stacey.

We got to the Hotel de Palmiers, this perfect little hotel in the middle of the St. Tropez square. We checked in and then went to La Voile Rouge Beach Club to meet Tiffany and Stacey who were already there. We had a wonderful 3-hour lunch and then relaxed at the beach. We happened to see Ryan Seacrest there.

Today we had a little breakfast and went to Club 55 Beach Club for another amazing lunch and beach time. We also had to have some gelato. Tonight we are going to Villa Romana for dinner. Everything in St. Tropez has been wonderful and relaxing.

Kelly, are you taller than Ryan Seacrest??? I think I am. Happy Jon survived the ironman. Good job for a 40 year-old :)
