As we've been living in dusty Phnom Penh now for a year, it was time to take a break and go on a beautiful holiday. You know, get away from the hustle and bustle of a big town, see some 'nature' and experience new cultures.
We'd never been to China, and admittedly heard mixed reports from people, but there was uniform praise for China's southwest region - unrivalled natural wonders, perfect weather and stunning scenery. Seeing China was just on our doorstep, we thought it only best to see for ourselves just what this new economic giant was up to.

I think the pictures speak for themselves in this regard....... Progress, with a capital P!
