National Park, Paraguay
I swam under those Waterfalls, and helped save a life! We left the tranquility of the beautiful National Park, and made the 3 hour journey to Asuncion.
Once again the heat was turned up, baking hot. We arrived at the Asuncion Palace hotel, which is nice and comfortable, and a welcome break from camping for the last week. Dumped all the laundry off, and had a look around the CIty. The City is very different from what I expected. Quieter, and very relaxed during the day. There are nice shops, and typically some Spanish colonial type buildings in the main Plaza.
In the evening we gathered for our usual meal together, again a nice change to eating out after camping, and had a few drinks in town, which was fairly quiet. Then home to a nice comfortable bed.
Its Valentines day today! Spent the day shopping, went to a really nice shopping centre just out of town. It was even hotter today, I saw an electronic sign in the street that said it was 44 degrees!!! Scorchio!Tonight we reunite for a good meal, then out on the town to celebrate Valentines Day. Its our last night here, before we start another week camping, we camp all the way
Asuncion, Capital of Paraguay
The main Plaza in the City, it was 44 degrees when I took this picture to Rio De Janeiro now. The next 3 days will be at the hotly anticipated and spectacular Iguassu Falls on the Brazil border, one of the largest falls in the world!!!!
I've again enjoyed Paraguay. Its a pretty cool place, a lot different than anticipated, and not one of the first places you would think about coming too. Its very very hot!!!
Onwards...........
