The amazing falls, this picture taken from the Argentinian side
It was a long drive once again from Asuncion, to cross the border and on to Brazil. It was very hot and stuffy on our bus too. But the time soon passed. The border was manic, many people cross from Brazil to buy duty free goods on the Paraguay side of the border. It was then a short drive in to the town of Foz, home of the amazing Iguassu Falls.

We pitched up our tents at the campsite which has a pool, cooked dinner and had a swim, and celebrated a birthday of a girl on our trip. There are also other travellers at our site, this is getting more common now as everybody in this region is heading for Rio for Carnaval next week.

Thursday morning we left the camp at 8am, and crossed the border to Argentina, for a day visit to the Iguassu Falls. The falls are surrounded by beautiful rainforest. The day started off hot and sunny, then at the Falls, a sudden torrential downpour got everyone soaked, it was a sharp turn of weather, I guess thats why its a rainforest!!

Walking down the trail through the forest, we came to the

Hello Tucan!
first viewpoint of the Falls. It was spectacular, breathtaking, nature at its complete best. We then had a powerboat trip, where they fit 20 or so people on boats, and speed you right up to the falls and under them. That was brilliant, and again got soaked, even all my money was wet, you couldn´t stop laughing it was great fun.

Then a wonder around the Falls, taking in as many beautiful viewpoints as possible, and taking millions of pictures. There is some wildlife here too, the odd Lizard just appears from nowhere, and there are Vultures in the sky. There are also Camans, and Turtles if you are lucky to see them, which I did.

The final viewpoint of the day is from the Devils Mouth, and is breathtaking, surely one of the natural wonders of the world. the amount of water going over the cliffs is incredible, and the spray goes in to the air, completely white, with rainbows coming out of the water. You can take great pictures, but they dont quite sum up what you see in person, really awesome. We then went back to camp, and had a barbeque last night, and chatted

Nature at its best....?!
with other travellers. There was a Brazilian family who are slightly mad but really friendly, and they are trying to teach me to Samba for Carnaval!!

Today we were back off to the Falls, this time the Brazil side. People say that the Argentina side is the action side ( Power boats, Train Ride etc ), and the Brazil side is the Beauty side, which is probably accurate. First I took a helicopter ride over the Falls, which was great. The rainforest is green and goes on for miles, and the falls seem quite small from the sky as you fly over them, compared to the horizon. I then went to the Bird Centre, which had loads of Tucans, Macaws and Hummingbirds, it was really good! A Tucan came up to me and bit my arm! I keep getting bit by everything, loads of Mosquito bites too! Then a huge Macaw nearly landed on my head, that was unreal!!! There has already been a stray dog asleep in my tent one night when I got home, nature attacks me everywhere!!! I then just had enough time to go back to the Brazil side of the Falls, and get some

more amazing pictures and take in the sights. It has been an awesome place to come and see.

Tonight we are going in to town for an organised show, with an eat as much as you want buffet. Then we´re packing up and leaving Foz early tomorrow morning, for an 11 hour drive on to the next town. It´s over 40 degrees again today, so that should be fun...not!
