Hello,
A quick note since it is late, and everyone is pooped. After the last 2 days of exhausting activities, we got up today, celebrated mass (which I am finding very nice to start the day with-too bad work gets in the way of doing this at home!) which a few of the youngsters were unable to roll out of bed for, had a leisurely breakfast, and loaded Father Patrick's truck with the last of the medical supplies and the books and school supplies to be taken North to Ndola, and the Copper District. Sandy swears it was a long bed truck, but by American standards was more of a compact. We then went to the Crocodile farm, a bit of a reptile garden with some snakes in glass cages, and several pools of crocs of various ages and sizes, ranging from the small and cute (can I keep it in my bathtub?) to the monstrous, which looks like it came from Jurasic Park! We then had a bar-b-que, Zambian style. We thawed and grilled the following: two whole chickens which we had to cut up, several T-bones, pork chops, and to top it off some crocodile tail fillets. The crocodile had a taste, yes a little like chicken, but more of a chicken and pork mix, just a little chewier. I think we have found our new white meat! There was a pool, which we made sure was not connected to any of the croc ponds, and the kids and friars swam and dunked each other while the meat cooked. There was some soccer and, and Matt became our first casualty of the trip when, his son hit him in the face with the soccer ball and he cut his nose with his glasses. The blood did not bring and of the large crocs from the pool, and we were able to staunch the flow relatively easily. There was then a "friendly" game of volleyball. Then the long rough, bumpy, dusty, did I say bumpy and dusty? I mean, BUMPY AND DUSTY, ride home.
I am going to sign off now, since I am having to "save" every 3-4 words. Will talk later.
Thanks for all your prayers!
Dave

Glad to see you're having a great trip so far! I can't believe how much you all brought with you to distribute. May you enjoy your time there and be a blessing to those you come into contact with - and may they be a blessing to you! You all are in our prayers - Aunt Kathy and Uncle Paul
