WOW MAIL SHOUTOUTS!!!!

So I run into the guy from the post office that delivers around Somoto. He speaks English and is probably the only person in this town who knows my name. I always know it´s him when I hear ¨Hi Molly!¨in Somoto. At any rate, he was like, hey you got a box!

And did I ever! All the way from New Zealand! Apparently it takes a helluva lot less time for A BOX OF AWESOMENESS to arrive than, say, the three month letter timeline. Shannon, I opened it in the park but didn´t get through all of it, waiting till I get home... but I DID see CAMOFLAUGE pens and pencils, crayons, and foot powder and let me tell you ALL of these things are necessary in life, ESPECIALLY life abroad! I cannot wait to get home and open it all up!

I also got a package of seeds and Skittles from Colorado, both much appreciated, Aunt Lori!

Mom and Ben, a big manila envelope is on its way to Spencer Creek... supposed to take 10-15 days. Lemme know if it ever arrives.

Well Abeyta is on vacay from Mexico City in the Bahamas and Laura Beth is tripping through Switzerland and France and Vysali is living it up in London and everyone else is like, getting engaged and moving in with boyfriends.... AND I FEEL SO FAR AWAAAAAAAAY!!!

But that´s okay. ´Cause I´m here. Yes, I am dreaming of summer at the Lake and blessed airconditioning and espeaking el englisho and all the comforts of home and the full refrigerator and gas stove and Gerbes Supermarket....

I´m hungry.

Apparently there will be a prom party in Matagalpa for 4th of July. That should be ridiculous.

Lenin´s birthday is next week. I had to drag that date out of him. The kid feels like he´s getting ¨so old¨and has no interest in celebrating or remembering that he´s a year older. Baby. Dammit. Making pancakes for breakfast and got him an Oxford English-Spanish dictionary.

Going to visit him at El Espino and spend the night. Probably going to cross over into Honduras again. Because I can with customs border agent for a boyfriend. Taking my camera this time.

No doubt will have to wear facemasks since Nicaragua finally admitted that the Pig Flu has infiltrated our borders. As if it hadn´t before.

All the news here is that the US government tried to asassinate Hugo Chavez in El Salvadore. Mmhmmm.

Gotta run and catch the bus now. So I can go home and open the box of awesomeness from New Zealand and eat skittles from Colorado.

And sort seeds. Lots and lots of seeds!

Mailman:
Um, HELLO?? It's nice for the MAILMAN when you know his/her name, ALSO! Ha! So, Molly, is there any specific seed or type of seed that you could use more of? When is "planting season" over and growing season begins? Guess there's no frost or ice there to worry about. Just curious! What day is Lenin's birthday?

What up?
I just haven't commented anything in a really long time, and this was just such an upbeat post, I just felt like I needed to say something. I'm in the same boat as you with all the people on vacay. Also I've done nothing regarding seeds, but I do have plans to. I just haven't quite gotten around to it yet. If nothing else, I at least want to send some. I'll try to get on that by July.

Oh yay! I'm so glad it got there safely. And quickly! Damn. Maybe I'll start putting Customs declarations on my letters, too, in case they think I'm trying to send something very flat but very dangerous. (The dreaded mail shark? I dunno.) Did the food make it too? Can you cook it? My brother says he uses that kind of food when he's camping, so I thought it might work OK on the stove. And the US tried to assassinate Chavez? Holy cow, NZ is really far away. Not even a whisper down here. I hope everything is going well!

Chavez
Why is it that the U. S. Govt is always trying to assasinate any leader that is for the working man instead of the multinational corporations?????
