Braids in CornrowsBraids in CornrowsBraids in Cornrows

Hope these last for at least 2 weeks. Cost TSH 5000.
1. Working at the trauma hospital has been very rewarding. The Emergencies tend to be higher acuity with lots of trauma care and OR time.
2. Everyone at the MOI from staff to professors and patient has been very welcoming to me all week. It's so nice how protective they are of me.
3. I met some more members of Poni's church with a friend named EVA and they cooked some food that was da BOMB with freshly squeezed mango juice! That could really spoil me, shoot! She promised to teach me some Swahili cooking Bongo-style.
4. I got my hair braided on Sunday and will have some dresses made soon. Everyone thought I was a Tanzanian or Azanian, now I'll really be by next week! Though my Swahili is still quite bad! LOL
5. I have been training so hard for the last 4 weeks at the gym. Lifting weights and running 4-5 days a week, so now I have decided to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro. I leave next Friday!! woohoo!
6. Zanzibar music fest is this weekend and I'll be leaving at noon to head over to the island. Should be great. I'll have some pics up by Monday.
7. I also decided very tentatively to go to Nairobi and Kampala,Uganda. Whoa, so much; so little time. More details to follow.
