We decide to walk up the mountain to a palace at the top. Anyway we get about half way and are informed it’s still about another half an hour to the top of the mountain. To make it worse none of the buses decide to stop for us whilst I try to flag them down - I know it doesn’t work in most western countries but dammit I had high hopes. Disgruntled we are about to turn around and go back when I realize there is another way!

I run up ahead and notice there is away down that is through some shrubbery. Liza and dad are at first skeptical and take me for a Spencer like raving lunatic. I persuade them and they agree. It’s got a few stairs going down so at first it’s not the most fun journey. However I find a way to please my unsuspecting victims’ - a nice park bench for dad in the shade with some pigeons gently swooping by and some toad stool sculptures for me and krunch to take some photos on - self timer mode (that’s right Nadia guess whose getting in on the self shot mode).

By the time we make it back to the old town of Sinatra, the selective members of the Krunch family are more satisfied and I feel like its half a job well down. We take the road down through the old cobbled streets and stop by a café, run by a Moldavian who talks to us in Russian and has nice eyes. We have some cake there - rather Spencer does, dad has an espresso and I have a Mars ice cream. We then head back to the station, me and Liz spot the train already there and waiting to go back to Lisbon. We sprint up, make dad sprint then realize that we didn’t have to, but nonetheless we love the exercise so why not right.

On the way back me and Krunch and dad argue so Krunch goes back to our pension whilst me and dad head to the modern district of Oriente. Someone says there is nice modern architecture there so we go and check it out. It does turn out to be cool and I’m bummed for Krunch that there is a promenade where you can race go kart like things - I know she would have enjoyed that but alas. Me and dad walk around and enjoy each other’s companies and we do the walk along the waterfront around the whole district. We don’t end up doing cable cars - which are also there which I think Liz would have also enjoyed. There are some cool fountains we pass that are like a volcano, first the lava sort of streams down them (water). Really cool, but when I wait by the fountains with my camera ready nothing happens. I get grilled cod for dinner which turns out to be too salty and dad also gets fish I think. We eventually fall asleep at 10pm. Whoa what a day.
