cathedralcathedralcathedral

one of the cathedrals in the Kremlin
Visited the Kremlin.A huge walled grounds with the government buildings and gardens and cathedrals.
Visited the cathedral of Archangel Michael with beautiful frescoes still original from 1565.

There were 5 singing young priests, good sound and when they were not singing they sold CD s or were busy with their mobiles.
Russian cathedrals have hardly any place to sit so how are they doing that?

Went also the the Cathedral of Assumption with nice Icons and to the intersession Cathedral, the building well known for the " onion" towers.

Streets in Moscow are kept remarkable clean by way of kind of waterguns driving around all day.

Everything is huge:
- The one way roads of 6 or 7 lanes were cars drive agresive at speeds of 80 km or more to the next traffic light.
- The buildings some times half a street long.
- The metro.
At the side of the Red Square a huge shopping mall with all Worldbrands available. However today it looked like more guards than buyers.

Moscow Europe s largest city is also a very green city with lots of parks. Compared to Paris 6 square m, NewYork 9 square m

in the Kremlin
has Moscow 27 sq m green per person.

Went to the LENIN mausoleum this morning also at the red square. Heavily guarded but free of charge.
Later I saw just outside the Red Square his replica drinking , dutch, Bavaria Beer with Napoleon before their first picture session.

What s remarkable in Moscow is the lack of aircons or at least using them. It s warm in the shops and buildings and the coolers in the food shop are at the lowest.
Bought my last food for the trip it looks like delicatesse shops are stocked at night or early morning but anyhow once a day for in the early afternoon all fresh products are out of stock already

After today my first entry will be probably next monday, 18th of may, from Beijing, Tonight I m leaving with train number 4 from Moscow the almost 8000 km to Beijing.
