Day 59/60 - Bangkok

We don't have much to report on our 2 days in Bangkok other then we spent them getting the VIP treatment in Bangkok. We did do a little shopping on Kao San Road but nothing to write home about. But we do owe a great big "THANKS" to our moms for putting us up in the 5 star Sofitel Hotel in Bangkok off Silom Road. We truly took advantage of the place - tried out the steam room, the sauna, jacuzzi and pool. S even took a bubble bath in the spacious tub. We only ventured out of the hotel to run errands as Steph has done the sightseeing stuff during her first visit to Bangkok 2 years ago and G was not too bother to see anymore Wats or Royal Palaces.

The lobby of the hotel itself was such a treat - it was filed with lavender scented cold air. We are confident to say that the doorman has never carried two dusty, scuffed up backpacks, like ours, up to any room before. The room was amazingly modern and clean. Everything in the room could be controlled from the telephone, so there was no need to get out of bed to turn on the lights or turn up or down the A/C. Oh yeah and the view was incredible as we were on the 21st floor. We lived in our luxurious robes - even slept the last night in them! The bed itself was definitely manufactured by angels; we honestly melted into the duvet when we laid down to sleep. The buffet breakfast was incredible and there was more food then one could imagine. They even had English Bacon for Steph who has been craving English bacon for 4 years now! We ate all we could and enjoyed pretending that we were rich and fancy like all the other guest in the dining room.

Moms - thanks again and enjoy the pics of the hotel room!!!
