Dear all,
We have now been back from our camping trip for a week and I suppose that I have become used to sleeping indoors again. However I am really looking forward to camping in New Zealand.

We have spent the last week exploring Sydney and eating. Two new eating experiences have been a Japanese bbq which I liked and a Korean bbq which was a bit too spicy for my liking! For both of them you are given a bbq on the table and then they bring out a huge platter of various meats and you cook them. I think that men especially enjoy these meals as they get to do the whole "man and bbq" thing. Obviously there has also been some drinking involved because it would be rude not to try that as well!

On Kens day off we went to Manly beach which involved catching a ferry, a really nice way to see a bit more of the harbour. Its a nice beach and the weather was good. Autumn is here now but at the moment it still seems hot to me. We had lunch on the beach front and did a bit of shopping before ice creams and walking round the headland. We also saw Shelly Beach which is the place that Dan and I are going to for some diving tomorrow.

Yesterday I went to the Sydney Tony and Guy to be a model and get my hair cut for free. The poor hairdresser had her work cut out as it hadn't been cut in seven months but she did a lovely job and I now have a tidy head of hair again. (well as tidy as my hair gets!!)

Today Dan and I went to the Maritime Museum. There are two sailing ships to walk round, one is a replica of the Endeavour which was Captain Cook's ship. It was impossible to walk upright when down inside the ship but apparently the average height for people in those days was much smaller! There is also a battle ship which was very interesting but I think that the most eye opening thing was the submarine! There is no way that I could ever live on a submarine. Dan says that I shouldn't worry as they don't let ladies be submariners! The beds were small and to get anywhere you practically had to crawl through very small openings. I take my hat off to the people that work on submarines.

So tomorrow is a diving day and then I suppose we will have to start thinking about gathering our things together and packing. I am sure that the next week will fly by and before we know it we will be in New Zealand. I cant wait to see the amazing scenery and Dan cant wait to eat all of the lamb!

Love to you all,
Wendy
xx
