DAY 26

Today dawned bright and sunny for St Patrick’s Day. Today I went into the city with my cousin Ryan and 2 of his friends to watch the parade. In there we met my other cousin Ian, his wife and their son Daniel. We waited for over an hour for the parade to start and it was fantastic. There was so much colour and so many nationalities all taking part in the event. Some of the entries though were a little odd and I wasn't sure how they fitted in. But they all looked amazing including Kin Kong, a flying pig and giant insects. Ryan and his friend's decided to leave before the end of the parade to go to the carnival but I decided to stay seeing as I had already waited so long to see it so why not see it all.
When the parade finished I decided I would go and find Ryan at the carnival rather then head to the footy and hurling matches. Well I never found Ryan or the Carnival instead I ended up walking around in circles so I decided to head home. I did think of heading into a bar and ventured as far as the bathroom but decided I wasn't interested in going into a bar with already extremely drunk Irishmen and tourists by myself anyway Ian was taking me out tonight!
Ian took me out to the three local pubs in Malahide where we had a drink at each. And no I wasn’t drinking Guinness as I and it don‘t agree very well, but it was beer. So that was my first St Patrick’s Day in Ireland and hopefully not my last!!
