Got to Ao Nang by boat and bus on Wednesday 4th. Helped by nice Thai / Aussie couple, without whom we would probably still be stranded somewhere. May got chatted up by restaurant man, who kept calling Lynsay, Lynsay Davenport?????!!!

Next day, we went on an elephant safari through the jungle and fed the elephants.

Visited the Tiger Cave Temple. May climbed 1237 steps to the top to see the Big Gold Buddha on the mountain; Lynsay gave up less than half way (typical!) The mean monkeys stole our crisps from our backpack - clever buggers.

Rained again for three hours. This isn't supposed to be the rainy season but we have had rain everyday until today. Killed the time by watching random films and playing cards (we know how to live it up!!)

Left Ao Nang on Friday 6th to Phuket town, which is rubbish. Never go to Phuket town. Played cards as there was nothing else to do :-(

Left this morning (Sat 7th) to Bangkok and start our tour tomorrow; next update (hopefully) from Chiang Mai.

Words of advice from Nan Syb
This is from Nan looking at your blog at Lyngate. Glad you look like you're both enjoying yourselves, but watch out for the mountains - its a long way to drop. Just get yourself back home in one piece! luv Nan

elephants look comfy
Just been catching up on yours and Linsay's adventures! Elephant travel beats having to catch the bus from Billericay to Chelmsford when there's engineering works on the line! Ha - bet that makes you homesick. I hope that it stops raining and you can put that pack of cards away girls. Climbing, snorkelling, avoiding sharks already. Now remember the factor one million sun cream next time. Lots of love to you xxxxx
