im back home. after a unexpected little vacay..

lots to do. tomorrow is world women's day, but as i was M.I.A. and stephanie is on her way to dar right now to get a root canal we are postponing until next weekend. or even the weekend after that. so pendo and i are supposed to be planning right now. that should be fun.

also i need to submit my solar panel grant by monday otherwise i have to wait until the next grant review meeting which is in two months. and i dont want to wait. i just need to get the budget. go tot he district health office and see if they can contribute any money. hopefully they will be able to.

then i will finally be back in site on monday. start teaching again on tuesday. implement my health teaching. im going to teach each form once every two weeks. and then i should have my hospital schedule figured out.

and i need to find bulletin board. and im curious to see how the permaculture garden took off without me. if it did. and whats funny is it was a struggle to find seeds in singida. but of course i visit korie and she has a bunch of seeds up at her house that nobody wanted to use. and then i was in dar and arusha that are basically the shopping meccas of tanzania. so i am fully stocked with seeds. but i dont know how many people will want to plant because the rains are supposed to end this month. i guess there is always next year.

and korie just submitted us for the first round of world cup tickets. hopefully we get chosen. then the tickets are only $450. but we shall see. and also around the same time is the billabong pro surf bit at j bay. which is relatively close. so thats exciting.

and pendo is leaving pretty soon. im really excited for her. she got accepted into this grad school program through columbia. its really a cool program. she is going to teach at a high school in nyc or dc i believe. and she is going to teach history. and earn a teachers salary at the same time as getting her masters degree. so thats pretty cool. and rashad got into berkeley for public policy. so thats cool too. talking to all these people about grad schools and what have you is slightly motivating even though it seems forever away. but i guess i should start thinking about those kinda things. especially as the internet in singida is slow city and i'll need hours to search online. nbd (no big deal).

we also just got applications to be pcv of the week for the incoming training group. they get in during june and have training until august like i did. and each week there is a volunteer or two that come in and talk and share experiences. and i really want to do that. i think it will be fun. we'll see though. i hear that there is a lot of favoritism. so we shall see if im well liked by staff. haha.

ok. well i guess there wasnt really that much to update here. i mean the newest news is oh hey i got bed bugs in dar. that sucked. and i was really itchy for a few days. but all is good now. well. peace and love.
