Sydney Opera House
Taken from under the Harbor Bridge G'day, seriously they do say this everywhere. Sydney is one of the most friendly cities I have ever visited. Everyone seems to be happy and life just seems to be good here. We are staying in a little apartment in Greenwich, which is a short boat ride to the city. There is a cool little beach called Greenwich Baths that we can walk to. Today was one of the hottest days in Sydney and we spent the afternoon swimming and sitting in the shade of the huge trees there. You may be suprised that I was in the shade, but after being here for a while I have become manically obsessed by the scary ads on the TV/radio/sides of a bus/ bus stop shelter about how two out of three people in Australia are diagnosed with skin cancer. They have a song here that is all upbeat and says, "its a beautiful day, its a beautiful day its a beautiful day.................FOR CANCER" (Zack sings it all the time) The side of the bus ads have huge pictures of people who have had cancer removed from their body - not too appetizing when you are on your way for dinner.
Koala
Koala's are called bears, but in fact are marsupials. They have tiny brains and are vegetarians. I LOVE them. I think this one thinks she is a pin-up model! I can't even believe that a girl from Derby is wearing a big hat and SPF 30 sunblock on the beach.
There is no better way to see this city than by the ferry. Tonight we took the night ferry back from the city and the view of the Opera House and the Harbor Bridge was awesome. We had a really fun night last night at a place called Govinda's in Darlinghurst. It's a vegetarian buffet/movie theater. We ate delicious indian food then watched Rock n Rolla, (Guy Ritchies new movie ) in the movie theater above the restaurant. The seats were indian style beds with big cushions, Zack proceeded to fall asleep about 10 minutes in!
My favorite things so far have been an exhibition at the Sydney Art Museum with photos of Bondi Beach in the 1940's and visiting the Wildlife Center at Darling Harbor. We spent the afternoon visiting koalas, kangaroos, the most poisonous snakes in the country and an amazing butterly house. For such a big city its amazing how many treacherous, poisonous venomous creatures live here!

Facing my fears
At the Wildlife Center was cool to hear it live in our apartment. After the interview quite a few people e-mailed him and one couple invited us to stay with them in Coff's Harbor, about 5 hours north of here. As I said, seriously friendly people....We have another few days here then we plan to rent a car and head north. We will check in with you all again further on down the road. Love Heidi xoxoxo

The sights sound amazing. But lying in the bed at the movie theatre concerns me. Do they change the sheets, isn't it gross?
