The weather is warmer today, thankfully, but the clear blue sky has been replaced by the smog again. But I think, at this point, we prefer a little warmth over nice views! Today, after going into the wrong entrance twice, we finally made it into the Forbidden Palace, which is pretty impressive. A huge complex of corridors, courtyards, palaces, halls and pavilions, with plenty of golden statues and grand throne rooms. I think I was more excited than Mark and Arran because I studied the architecture of it at university, and it was just as I imagined (although with a lot more tourists!). Mark risked being crushed by hundreds of Chinese tourists to get the photo of the throne, so appreciate it!

After spending a few hours there, we wandered the streets for a bit, and by good luck came across a parade, with the traditional dragons winding down the street (Mark was very happy). The main computer is still broken, so, again, no photos for this entry, and I'm having to keep it fairly brief, but hopefully it will be fixed tomorrow!
