After Almost no sleep= well in to the japanese part of our trip and still jet lagged= we are up and across Tokyo in morning rush hour to get a bus to Hakuba to the area where the 1998 winter olympics was held, to go snowboarding!!! Driving through the Japanese Alps up to Hakuba was stunning- tho i slept much of the way!

Our first nite is spent at a little B&B as the hostel is double booked-but for the same price as the hostel- result! with an Onsen- Traditional Japanese Hot Spring!! So spent a little time in there chilling out Japanese style!!! you shower off, get in Naked, in to the HOT spring water and then wen you are crazy hot get in to the snow and roll!!!! Brrr!!!!
We got kit hire sorted pretty easily and the whole area looks amazing- soo excited to get out in to the snow- never seen soo much- it is thick, white and fluffy!! We spend the first day at Happo One- the nearest slopes- 2mins on the bus- just tryng to remember how to board- Tom already seems to have the skills- but we both take a fair share of falls!! The slopes here seem to be pretty steep, but things are goin ok! we move to the hostel for our second nite- the atmosphere is much more chilled out and we can finally cook some proper- good food!!
Second Day on the Slopes we head to Hakuba 47- slightly more runs and a couple of snow parks and Jumps!- Tom can lay on the jumps, but i am not quite there yet- pretty scary! I think we are feeling confident enough to tackle some of the higher slopes so we get a gondala to head right to the top of the mountain, aazing views- but a pretty tricky Cat Run back down to the bottom, and the icy slopes make it pretty hard work!!! In the evening it starts to snow- yay, still snowing the next day, which is great, so we head back to Hakuba 47- play around on the base slopes, but busy as many japanese drive up for the weekend, so we head back up to the top of the mountain!! Amazing powder at the top, make for more fun conditions!! Tom and Chris - Aussie From our hostel- play on the snow park and I go off to practice- gotta put the work in or Tom will be too much better than me!! Back to the hostel- exhausted, and then for a bit of Apres Ski in the night!!
