Whilst it's undoubtedly beautiful with lots of sunshine and clear blue skies, the snow conditions are now getting a bit unpleasant and we desperately need some fresh snowfall... There are still some areas where going is fair (albeit hard-packed) but there's too much ice for my liking now and quite a few of the runs have bare patches of rock and/or grass. But salvation may be in sight - apparently flurries are forecast for tomorrow with proper snow on Tuesday. Here's hoping!

So it seems like a while since I last updated you on my progress. Finished lessons with Petra last Thursday, feeling a little more confident. Took the entire weekend off to rest my weary limbs and to try to recover from my various lurgies. Then back to school with a vengeance on Monday with new instructor Ed. Now, the general feeling amongst the class is that Ed was tasked with pushing us in terms of fitness, mileage and speed. All much needed (for me at least) but no less tiring for it! But after 4 days with him, I have now picked up some speed (still not as fast as Chris, Matt and Nicole, but overtaking a couple of the others on a good run) and taken on some more black runs and moguls. Not with any style or technique, but I only fell over a couple of times and skied over only one tree... So now it's Friday and I'm having another well earned day off!

Still not a huge amount of action off hill (or at least not for me) - I'm still not 100% and the full days skiing seem to take their toll on everyone, such that we all collapse rather early! Managed an evening out last Saturday - dinner and a few drinks - cinema on Tuesday (rubbish film, far too long) and a few drinks on Wednesday. Unfortunately, most of the party had more than a few drinks on Wednesday so the usual Thursday night apres was rather subdued! Obviously need to get my social clock in tune with everyone else... although if I had gone to Buffalo Bill's on Wednesday, I think ski school wouldn't have happened yesterday!

Tomorrow I may head over to the ski jumping world cup (if I can be bothered to make the trek - it's about 20 minutes away by road so not exactly on the doorstep), then Em and Fez arrive tomorrow night so I'll go ski with them on Sunday. Really looking forward to seeing them!
