Well the lady Di pose didn't quite go as planned...very difficult with hoards of tourists around all trying to do the same thing!! The bench is actually called the lady di bench now! What can we say about the Taj Mahal apart from breathtakingly beautiful. No wonder it took 22 years to complete (see we were listening to our guide!)Words cannot do it justice and cannot believe it has actually taken this long before coming to see it. Still trying to work out how to upload some pics so hopefully you can judge for yourself.
From Agra we headed across to Jaipur - not sure how we made it in one piece. London drivers are saints compared to drivers here. No driving test required...just head for the gaps in the traffic - even if on the other side of the road. Rule no.1 =beep your horn at all opportunities to warn other drivers, tell them to move out the way, thank them or just for the hell of it. Easier to close your eyes and feign sleep in the car rather than be a part of the white knuckle ride.
Absolutely awestruck by the Pink City and Amber Palace. Did the really touristy thing of riding an elephant up to the fort...well why not. Don't know who was more scared the elephant or Sharon!! From Jaipur it was back to Delhi for our last night before an early flight out to Singapore. Cannot believe neither of us got Delhi belly - very easy when eating very little food here! We're having to do a stopover at Singapore before backtracking up to Hong Kong so have pushed the boat out and booked a swanky hotel for the night. Just finished a few laps in the rooftop pool in the 30 degree heat and are sipping cocktails in the lounge bar. Its a hard life!!!
