Christmas Eve BBQ at the hostel with Felicia, Anja, Anna & Alice (SWE)Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (24 - 27 December 2008)
Christmas in Rio! For the first time in my life I have spent Christmas in the sun! Great feeling! After a great BBQ in the hostel with lots of meat & lots of fruit punch, Sigi and I went down to Copacabana beach to hang out the rest of the afternoon with Camilla. In the evening we stayed in and unwrapped the Christmas gifts (I received a pack of Ferrero Rocher from Anja & Felicia - thx a lot!!!) before partying heavily in the hotel....
With a bit of a hangover we started into Christmas Day with basically a continuation of the previous night: lots of food, some movies, and drinks. Whilst in the evening everyone went clubbing, Sigi and I decided to go the our nearby local bar and have some drinks there.
On the 26th we did some sightseeing and shopping before going clubbing to (in)famous Emporio Bar at Ipanema beach.o Excellent fun as always, and of course we all had one or two beers too many before we went to bed in the early morning...
On saturday Christian from Australia and I had to check-out since our bus was
leaving for the world famous Iguazu waterfalls at the border of Brazil, Argentina & Paraguay. So we said good-be to everyone we had met over the past two weeks in this great hostel, not without having the promise us that they would follow us after New Year.
So at 14h30 in the afternoon our bus left for a non-stop 22hrs trips to Foz do Iguacu... (to be continued)
