Yesterday was a driving day. 450 miles to be a bit more exact. We left Carlsbad after one of the best Mexican breakfasts I have ever had. There is not a lot to see on this drive. We headed down 285 through Pecos and Fort Stockton to the I 10 east and got to within an hour of San Antonio at a place called Kerrville. Neat historic town known for it's annual folk festival of music. Today we are going to go just one hour in order to be in San Antonio for New Years Eve. This is in the hill country so it is far more scenic than most of west Texas. As an aside, I paid 2.07 for diesel yesterday which is by far the least I've paid yet. It looks like doing this road trip now instead of at a later time is going to allow me to do it for less than half what it would have cost only a few months ago. Joining Passport America also gets us into rv resorts for half price. That has already more than paid for itself. Thanks to Joe at GE for that tip. We are eventually going to

get to south Texas where we will sit for about 3 weeks and get back to tennis and sun as well as local visits to places like South Padre Island and possibly a bike trip into Mexico among other things. We are also going to fly down to Jamaica for a week at the end of January.
