Edit Blog Post

This will be the Third of Three Photographic , follow up post's , in regards to =

"Over the next three blog entries , I plan to post separately Flower's , Butterfly's and Bird's .

I am doing this , only because I purchased a New toy for my self before I left on adventure 08/09 .

I picked up a very nice DSLR , A Canon EOS 50D , with an EF-S 18-200 IS lens , so I need to practice with it and these next few pages will basically be just that , Practice .

So enjoy the photo's or not , either way , I have had a lot of fun taking them .

All of the photo's are hand held with the Canon Image Stabilization Lens , no tripods were used , but I must admit I now see the benefit of a good tripod ,

since some of my photo's you won't see , went into the scrap pile do to unintended , slight shake or movement .
"

these Bird photographs , were taken at a location in downtown Kuala Lumpur called the Bird Park .

To keep the birds in , they have massive nets overhanging the entire bird park , quite an engineering feet I mite add .

they do try and tout it as the largest free flying bird park / zoo in the world , but nearly every city will try and claim there *whatchemhasit is the best , so I take it with a grain of salt , but I still really enjoyed myself 😊

Canon 50D
Hi there, Nice to look at you photos I too brought a canon 50D about a week before I departed for KL (in october) with sigma 18-200 lense and I also have very similar photos to what you do of a few places...at the bird park what auto setting did you use? I actually found at the park the best setting was the sports setting it has such a fast shooting time that you don't get the shaking problem and can capture the birds before they move...I have been enjoying using my canon also I found night shots depends on the setting you use...I played around with my camera alot in KL and found that depending on the veiw you need to adapt the setting you use again finding that the landscape was a great option as it allows more light in and focuses on a broader amount of subject!! Did you find that you can turn on the focus points with a light at night using a button on the top of the camera really helps with getting the horizon straight at night and seeing what the lens is trying to focus on!! Keep on going with the photos they are lovely!! Michelle
