Festive Spirit
Yay for birthdays! A family gathering is always such fun Yesterday (7 December 2008)I turned 50 (but really in my head I am still 12 1/2 years old, ha ha)
I had arranged to meet mostly family and a couple of friends (Amy, Mike, Rylee, Laura, James, Michael, Bruce, Claire, Oma & Grandad, Robyn, Michael, Catherine, Jason, Anita, Nicola, Jeff, Jakob, Anita and the birthday girl) at Cafe Mokka downtown at 9.30am for breakfast/coffee/whatever. I asked everyone to accessorise with something bright and silly as it was Silly Sunday! Was a lot of fun. Much laughter and chatter was had, along with delicious food and coffee etc.
All was going well and then ....they produced a laptop with a powerpoint presentation of my first 50 years made by Amy (aaaargh!). It was lovely but Amy is sooo going to pay for some of the photos she put on there!! No, it was really nicely produced, great music, mostly great photos.
Then the gang dissipated (I use big words now that I am 50) and just the famous nine (Amy, Mike, Rylee, Laura, James, Michael, Bruce, Claire and Tineke) went to Kawakawa for a ride on the steam train. That was fun ...the wind (and soot) blowing in our
Robyn ...
sure got in the spirit of Silly Sunday. What great accessories! Well done. hair (grin). Lots more laughter, a trip to the Hundertwasser toilets, the gift shop and then back to the Platform Cafe for a late lunch. Yummmm!
The weather was hot and sunny, the company great and it all added up to a perfect day. Photographic evidence attached.

The train ride looks great
and I will have to go and have a ride sometime! Lots of nice photos - with Riley the main attraction!
