Week 2 is finally over and what a week it has been. Ceri and I went on a 7 day trip from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth, along the way we stopped at loads of amazing places.
Day One was a relaxing day where all of the group started to get to know each other, we went to Hermanus where you can see Whales from the shore line. At night I made friends with a guy called Kem, and we stayed up til the end of the night drinking JD and Coke and got hammered.
Day Two was a slow start that ended very well, we had a relaxing morning driving to warmwatersberg spa where there is a natural 40 degree pool which was lush. We ended up in Outshroom where we had a tour of the endangered wildlife ranch, and I had my picture taken with Cheetahs which was amazing and unreal. That you are in a cage with wild animals and if they really wanted to they could eat you.
Day Three went to Cango Caves they were amazing rocks to look at, and it had interesting stories as to how they got formed. After the
caves was the bungi and out of the 10 people on our tour, 7 of them done the jump. Ceri was shitting it when she done her jump as well as walking over the bridge, and I really thought she would change her mind but she never and went through with it, fair play. Mr T jump was awesome he flew from the bridge and his pictures where amazing. Brittany's jump was also amazing just for the fact I had asked her to do the sprinkler dance and somehow after falling over 200meters Brit remembered to do it. lol. At night we stayed at the Tube n Axe where we had a massive fire, lots of drinks, and springboc dance and unicycles and some really fun Germans and some even more funny German songs.
Day Four we started with Tsitsikamma zip line which was quiet fun but for the people who had done a bungi jump must have found this boring. At night we stayed at this amazing place called Sundays River Valley. We were all in mud huts and the middle of nowhere. I have never seen so many stars at one time. We had a fire going
at Mr T en suite palace, where Brit, Kem, Mr T and I all got drunk and stayed up most of the night. At this point in the 7 day trip, I realised that I have met some amazing people and may never see any of them again, but I believe its a small world, and with a little effort it will be easy to keep in touch.
Day Five was Addo Elephant National Park Game Driving where we saw two of the big five namely elephant and buffalo. So only Rhino, Lion and Leopard to see when Ceri and I go to Kruger. This is the day I cut my foot open by tripping over a tree which was annoying more than anything but on the plus side, but when we went out for a meal that night Jan, Mr T and Marie carried me there and back, maybe this hurting my foot thing was not so bad after all lol.
Day Six was Crags Elephant Sanctuary where we got to walk, feed and ride the elephants. Which was unless you do it, you wont realise how alike Elephants are to humans. After the elephants we went
to Pletrenberg Bay where all the girls and guys were so fit, most of the men all had abs which made me feel like a fatty fatty. But the girls were sexy. Most a little still small but definitely nice on the eye 😊 At night we stayed at Wilderness where they had an 8K sandy white beach. Jan was trying to teach everyone to surf but I could not do it with my bad foot so I was just sleeping and snoring in the sun lol. At night we had a pizza which was my first pizza in a week. Nicole done an amazing dance with fire which half way threw I let her throw the fire around me. Good job I was drunk or I might of shat myself. lol.
Day Seven I started the day with a 4K run along the beach to see if my foot would handle it which it did really well. We now have the 450K trip back to Cape Town. On this trip I have met nine amazing people with all there own stories to tell. But in most cases everyone seems to go through the same shit, in different countries,
but stories are what makes our character.
Gill in her 50's who is just taking time out on holiday and thought this would be a good way to meet some people.
Kim early 40's has been and done so much over the world and is very interesting and only lives in Andover which means there is no reason when Im back home not to go and visit.
Mr T is from Norway and he is a fun guy that works in engineering. I feel a bit embarrassed that after 7 days I still get his name wrong. I just find it hard to say its just to do with my Derekish. I would say he has been the most laid back on the trip. And over the next two days back at our hostel, Im going to get hammered with him again, and learn more about him.
Marie almost a police officer from London but burns so easily, like 10 minutes in the sun and she is proper fucked. As only 50 miles down the road from me we live quiet similar lifes so again after my nine month world adventure there is no fucking reason
for me not to get off my arse and drive to London for a drink.
Marie was with her cousin Kem who out of the guys I would call my partner in crime or JD drinking. He is from Istanbul (Turkey). He has just lost over 10 stone in weight in 7 months and looks amazing for it.
Jan and Lauraen are a young couple away for three months who are volunteering helping working with children. They are both two wicked people but live so far away from each other. Jan in Ireland and Lauraen from the Netherlands. Jan told me something cool the Alexander Technique which is all to do with backs. So the next thing Ill try is the Alexander technique.
Nicole was a tour guide and I have to say a frigging amazing tour guide. Loves her job, Loves her country, and Loves the people she meets and is just so cool you have to come to South Africa and do the Cape to Addo Trip.
Brittany from Canada was the person I got along with best with in the tour. We had a few heart to hearts and Im going to miss
her the most out of everyone, Im quiet sad that you can meet some amazing people travelling just to know you might never see them again. But it is a small world and you just never know and everywhere in the world can be reached with in less than a day.
I think over the nine months Ceri and I are travelling together we will carry on meeting amazing people and will have great memories of everyone that we meet.
Next stop is Kruger before we had to Thailand it is going to be a sandy Christmas :0)
