Packed the tents away and my group cooked breakfast. We were about 4km from the Zambian border. We filled in the exit slip and got our Botswanan exit stamps very quickly. We went over to an aged ferry to cross the Zambezi, which fits about 1 lorry (or 2 smaller ones). It doesn't take long, maybe 10 minutes, but this is across the river - it is huuge! It is also the meeting point of 4 countries: Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana and Namibia. We then waited maybe 40 minutes to get our Zambian stamps. It was incredibly disorganized and poeple kept pushing in front of us. On a positive note, the Zambian visa had gone down from $140 to $50!!!

We arrived a the Waterfront camping ground and... it was raining. We had a little tour around and then our activities meeting. Everything looked fun but quite expensive. I booked to go on the Sunset (Booze) Cruise, the Crocodile Farm and the Morning Breezer to Livingstone Island. After this we pitched our tents - I requested my own as i wanted to spread out. We put them up in the pouring rain an then I hibernated for the afternoon, until it had stopped raining. It actually got really hot them, and I changed into my dress for the cruise. It was drinks and dinner for $45. I started off with a G&T, but it wasn't great. after some nibbles (chicken wings, meatballs, potato croquettes, salad and little breadsticks) we watched some hippos lazing around and puffing water. They were yawning a bit and I think I got a photo.

After I moved onto vodka, lime and soda, but I only had one. Laurence by this point was wrecked, having eaten nothing and drunk many whiskeys and cokes. Everyone was giggly and happy - it was good fun. Back on land at the bar I had an amerula (made from the fruit of the merula tree) a bit like Baileys. Becky, Ben and i were escorting Laurence around and we went to the auditorium to dance to cheesy hits such as Ace of Base, Aqua (Barbie Girl, naturally) and some 90s dance music mixed in with some Blink 182 and SkaterBoi. The mixing was atrocious with gaps of up to 10 seconds!

Laurence smashed a glass at one point and someone used my flipflop to brush it up. I was too surprised at the request to say no. By this point Vicky was being sick outside and Becky and I were feeling like parents and very old with all the oldskool music. I looked at mu watch at one point expecting it to be midnight, but it was only 8.30!! My bodyclock is really off!! I went to bed at nine leaving the fun (!) behind.
