Hey!

So we're still loving OZ and we've seen a bit more of New South Wales. And I had a 2nd surf lesson, after which I have discovered I need more practice! But it's still great fun.
At the BBQ we went to last week we were invited camping in the 'bush', hardcore style by a lovely Ozzie bloke called Glen. So we found a 'mall' and bought sleeping bags and marshmallows and found our way to another suburb in Sydney called Gladesville where we met Glen and family. Then it was a 2 hour drive up to the bush, near a summit called Pa Pong. Now this was real camping! They guy that owns the land had built a wee hut for sleeping in and they had a well established camp fire. Now there were no toilets and no running water, just trees and beasties! And Bob the dog! So we saw plenty of spiders and ants, wild Kangaroos and Goannas. On Saturday we got up early for brekkie and we collected firewood like proper campers, that was tough work btw!

Anyway, Rich who owns the land has like a million motorbikes, my new best friend! And it

I rode up there!
turns out he is an architectural draftsman too. So he let me loose on his motorbike! We spent hours going along dirt tracks up and down really steep hills, sooooo much fun. Then in the evening we all decided to go up Pa Pong, and I got to go on the motorbike! YAY! Only fell off once too. Well, I was going up a really steep hill and lost power, stopped and lost my balance. So bike landed on my leg which means I have a pretty good bruise now, war wound. After all the excitement of the driving it was time for a tea, a furfy! Basically you dig a big hole, put hot coals from the campfire, chuck a load of food in a pot and put the pot in the hole, cook for 45 min and you have tea! Delicious, chicken with garlic and pumpkin. Top that off with a wee drink of Dr Juds Jungle Juice and you've got the perfect Saturday night.

So the camping was ace and we're so grateful to Glen and his family for taking us, and he's actually just called us to recruit us for a quiz team which we're heading off to once Stef's made my tea.

We're now back in Manly, having borrowed the tent from Jane and Steve yesterday, so we're going to do some more camping in North Narabeen then up to a national park near Palm Beach (think Home and Away). Watch this space......
