Some random wall near the museum with some neat artwork.
Another silly day in class.

Then I went to visit where I'm going to be volunteering at an elementary school nearby. The kids there are CRAZY and out of control. It's not like schooling in the U.S. at all. They were just runing around screaming and roughhousing. It's like a train wreck in the middle of a war zone. It should be interesting when I do go to volunteer.

We went to the National Museum, which was in a new part of town for me. It's an old fort and it was pretty cool to see what it would have been like to live in it a long long time ago when there were battles going on outside it. It really intrigued me, once again proving how much of a nerd I really am. Whatever. Old forts are super cool. Admit it.

After the museum we discovered the artisan market. Lots of crafty souvenirs and other artsy works. I guess that's pretty redundant and/or obvious... it was an artisan market after all.

I had this strange craving for Taco Bell all day. I don't even know why (other than the obvious reason that Taco Bell is delicious

in a crappy kind of way). Luckily, my friend Michelle had the same craving and we ventured together. After much searching, and a pit stop for some McD's fries, we found it. We had succeed in completely inundating ourselves with greasy poison as well as resorting to American junk amidst local food all around us. That's what happens when you have cravings. It's like a Death Star tractor beam. I hope it doesn't happen again.

At home everyone is obsessed with Latin American Idol. A Costa Rican (Tica) made the final two and the entire country is obsessed. There are signs everywhere telling you to vote via texting for her. Her image is plastered across billboards and buses. Imagine the U.S. anti-smoking campaigns mixed with NBC's "the more you know" spots and you've got Maria Jose's suffocating advertising campaign. It's work than Election 2008 stuff. Gustavo's (our Tico brother) girlfriend Wendy spends $16 a month just voting for her on her via texting costs. Wow.

In other news, I bought a cool painting today. It's orange. And now it's on my wall.

This is an ad sponsored by the GOVERNMENT PHONE/ELECTRIC COMPANY to vote for her to win Latin American Idol. Vote for Maria... or your power might go out.
