We ventured east to visit Alex's cousin Sara at her horse farm on the coast near the town of Kivik. It was a fantastically relaxing time. It's a really beautiful area in the south of Sweden called Skane. There were lots of Beech tree forests and the were all red and gold leaves and the leaves covering the ground.

After weeks of average cheap eating we went 3 days without meat! Alex took a particular liking to cheese and vegemite for 2nd course at every meal. Sara lives in a small single room caravany thingo and we had delicious Sara-masterpiece vego delights.

We spent quite a lot of time picking wild mushrooms and then stuffing ourselves with them with garlic and cream for lunch. Yum!!

You may have noticed there are some photos of Alex in a hole. Well, a few holes. I became an expert farm tap fixer. No one else was brave enough to lower themselves into the abyss, 3 times no less! Apparently thousands was saved as no plumber in the neighbourhood dared venture near the treacherous water filled holes. Alice chopped wood.

Seeing that we were on a horse farm we were continuously forced to go horse riding. Sara even forced us to ride along the beach, at sunset! How could she? One day the army wasn't using their firing range so we got to ride around the tanks and unexploded shells. Apparently at one point on the trail the horses "always" go really fast. There was nothing we could do to stop them. Cantering hurts my bum. Trotting hurts my balls.

We also earned our keep sorting sheep into slaughter or too skinny. Pity we didnt get to eat any though, some looked extra tasty.

During the night Larry and Alex played many fierce games of chess. We were closely matched but Larry took the contest with most games won overall. Everyone else rolled their eyes and read books around the fire.

We ventured to a great party in a converted barn. Everyone seems to build their own houses and they do an amazing job.

We helped Sara make a tequila worm costume for a Halloween party!
It was such an awesome week we wanted to stay longer but it was time to move on...
