I spent the last two days in Galway and Limerick visiting my Irish friends Eoin and John who are two of my best friends from San Francisco and were home for the holidays. We decided to meet in Galway because all of their friends from Nortel in Galway were meeting up for a night out. We met up with a bunch of their friends who I had met one way or another when they had visited San Francisco. It was fun to see all of them again. The night ended up being really great. We visited a few different bars and ended up at a cool dance place. It poured rain on the way home and we got completely soaked because of course none of us brought raincoats.
The next day Eoin´s brother picked us up and drove us to their house in County Clare about 20 minutes outside of Limerick. Eoin´s parents were so accomodating and showed me a great time. His mom cooked us up a very tasty dinner. Afterwards, Eoin and I contemplated going out but we were so tired from the nigth before so we decided to visit the Eoin family bar out the back of
the house instead. I´ve been hearing about this bar for years now and was quite impressed when I saw it. It had a pool table and a very cool decor. Eoin kicked all of our butts in pool and Eoin´s dad was the bartender and mixed us up some tasty concoctions.
The next day we did a quick spin through Limerick and then I was off on the bus back to Dublin for Christmas Eve dinner.
