Days 57 - 63
Got into Nha Trang about 6am and went into the first hotel there were alot around but they are pretty samey or same same but different as they would say.. Didn't fancy sharing a room needed to be in control of the tv remote ha ha no just needed a bit of space.. When we arrived it was quite nice out sunny not too many clouds and the beach looked really nice but it was now raining again, it's getting a bit annoying.. Watched a few poo films today whilst napping was so tired didn't get much sleep on the bus.. Went out for some dinner but didn't venture far it was tipping it down but still really humid not reat for my hair, at te moment i'm in need of some serious hair conditioning, a hair dryer or straighteners i constantly look like i've been dragged through a bush backward then been attacked by the hair bear t seems to be getting worse, i never know what im gonna wake up to!! After eating i went for a stroll round the block but it's much the same as the others places we've been in Vietnam,
Mui Ne
View on the road to the sand dunes.. there is hotels everywhere and western restaurants all with the same menu!!
The new shiznay i bought in Hoi An actually fits although not going to the beach here as its thunering now ha ha.. My bags also starting to overflow cos i'm having to buy stuff for the hot weather now, but don't want to through away my jumpers, i'll prob need 'em later!! Getting pretty good at packing you'd be surprised how small you can roll a t-shirt ha ha, although i never want to dig to far into my bag incase i mess it up i'm stuck wearing the same clothes at the top ha ha..
Oh yeah and Vietnamese vodka tastes like Sambucca not so snazzy with orange, looks like it's back to my old faithful smirnoff 😊..
The next day everyone else went on a boat trip i didn't fancy it with my unreliable stomach condition and the frak weather here, i'd prefer to stay inland.. Headed out earlyish, went for a walk along the beach until it started raining again then went for a fry up mmmm, wasn't too bad either except what i thought was a real sausage turned out to be
Mui Ne
On the road tot he dunes.. a frankfurt, devastating..
The bus tomorrow is at 8am bit crappy not really keen on ye olde early rising, but gives us the day in Mui Ne which is good.. The others got back from the boat trip, Jackie was pretty drunk, they said it was good but rained toward the end.. Went out for a curry for dinner i stuck to the vodka and orange instead still full from my fry up feast.. Got back just in time for brand new Grey's Anatomy ha ha i'm such a loser..
Arrived in Mui Ne the next day around 2pm looked really nice on the way in beaches and no clouds woop woop.. We went into the hotel the bus stopped at bit more expensive than wat we've been paying but really nice.. The beach was opposite so we went there once checking in found some really nice bungalows on the beach which were a bit cheaper than our hotel so decided to say there for a couple of nights the next day.. Went for a nice dinner in one of the many western restaurants, although they got really confused when i asked for a vodka with orange it was
either one or the other?! Eventually got across what i wanted bt it took ages so we moved onto another bar/restaurant which was worse, and actually took half an hour to get a drink, there was noone else in the place?! We was ready to give up when we bumped into a couple of girls we'd met at another hotel and they told us about a bar on the beach.. It was hard to find down an alley but alot better although more expensive.. Played a few ames of cards Jackie started whining again she's getting a bit annoying, Pete didn't feel so good so went home and Jackie went back soon after.. Me and Paul stayed out and got onto drinking the vodka redbull buckets, ha ha was a good night..
Woke up drunk the next morning and checked into our bungalow.. Went for breakfast it was weird had egg, bacon and beans but the beans were runner beans?? Found a shop as well that does my size XXXL ha ha got a couple of bits.. Also got so bitten last night and along with my bruises i'm looking good, looks like i've got some kind of lurgy..
Mui Ne
View of the beach from the bungalow.. There were alot of halloween parties on tonight but still weren't feeling so great after last nights antics so stayed in, and i had an outfit and everything planned darn it..
Headed to the sand dunes the next day, rented mopeds again although this time i weren't so lucky the gages on mine didn't work and it was really rattly.. We found the red dunes and the white ones were supposed to be 20 km further down the same road, not sure if we missed them or didn't go far enough but we never fond them so went back to the red ones.. Also the mileage on my bike said we'd done 400 km?? On the way back we decided to go to the supermarket but again couldn't find it and the directions we got were just pure shit.. Gave up and came home weren't sure how much fuel i had left, although it was only £2 to fill it.. Went for dinner to the same place again then went back to watch a film ha ha.. Also Jackie left for Saigon today woop woop..
On to Saigon tomorrow not really looking forward to it though haven't heard
good reports about it, just a really big city i think, will have to wait and see..
The bus was due to leave at 2pm so we checked out went for breakfast then went to the bar in the beach, it was so hot so i stayed out of the sun got a bit burnt on the bike the day before.. The bus was an hour late which was annoying as it seemed to be getting hotter and it meant we wouldn't get to Saigon til dark.. Got a bottom bunk on the bus which seemed to have more room so no bruises 😊.. Arrived just after 7pm tried to find a hostel with no luck so stayed in a hotel near the Hanh Cafe where we can get our bus to Phnom Penh, Cambodia..
Saigon's is just as people said a really big city very western, no beach nearby and the roads are a death trap.. Went out for dnner and it's alot more expensive here, i ordered a bbq duck pizza which was not duck!! Took a walk around after dinner and every street is basically the same..
The next day woke up really late then we went to the market Ling came along as well (our chinese takeaway ha ha), she can speak pretty good english now, still crazy though and i can't spend too much time with her or reckon i would kill her.. The market was rubbish just like a scrap yard, atempted to find a book store after with no luck found one but they had like two english books, the dictionary and the bible.. Paul picked up some baked beans in the supermarket and we went for a fry up, and asked them to cook the beans we'd bought hee hee.. Didn't do much else today can't relly be bothered it's such an effort and the place ain't that great Mui Ne was by far the best place in Vietnam, woulda been nice in Nha Trang if it weren't raining as they have islands you can visit..
Later that night sotted a KFC couldn't help myself, strange though you got an actual cup and plate when you ordered?! Booked the bus as well an early one again leaves tomorrow at 8am..
So onto Cambodia probably won't spend too long there running out of malaria tablets and want to get to some nice beaches 😊..

End of the road!
Nance, I am leaving my job today, so I won't be able to send you any more comments, although I am asking aunty Gina, and uncle Al, to copy the blogs for me, so I still get your updates. It's great to hear that you are still going well, on the Ho Chi Min trail. Keep safe honey, and I'll see you on the flip side! Kate XXXXX
