Hoi An
Along the river which will flood later that day.. Days 52 - 56
Arrived in Hue at around 08:30 but was woken at 05:30 by dancing with the stars vietnam style, slightly annoying but at least it wasn't Vietnam Idol which i've seen aadverts for!! The bus was pretty cramped but i'm alright the blokes looked funny though all bunched up and everytime the bus jerked or breaked sunddenly you'd shoot forward in bed and smack your feet at the bottom ha ha.. I fitted quite nicely 😊.. When we got off the bus i was still half asleep but we were bombarded by people asking if we wanted rooms but it didn't sound like english it was like gibberish especially at that time in the morning!! They were all cheap so went for the ne infront of us $15 a night for 4 not too shabby..
After watching a bit of TV (The Borrowers ha ha) i headed out to try and find the market but i had two maps that said completely different things and when i asked the locals they all pointed to the river?! Confused too hot tired and wanting to get back in time for freinds (geek) i headed back to the hotel..
I was quietly watching freinds when Ling came in (the girl we picked up in china-she's crazy), she had with her a huge odd looking pineapple bits of fruit and what looked like a machete.. The only thing i could think was get the knife away from her she is over excitable at the best of times and Ling with a mahousive knife was not my idea of fun/safe/gonna keep me alive.. Turned out she didn't have a clue what the hell the fruit was either and just began hacking at it?? Then came the ants at which time she left!! The room now smelt we had ants and fruit and a big knife.. I left it for a while but the ants got worse so i cleaned it up and she eventually came to collect her crazy purchases..
The next morning everyone else went on tours, i was still really bit rough think it's the malaria tablets, so a 7 hour boat trip wasn't really a good idea.. Did venture away from the TV for a few hours to get some food and played pool with one of the locals, i lost alot and decided to move on
before they started laughing in my face!! The locals are really annoying once you've left the hotel you get bombarded by people wanting to take you on motorbike rides in a little chair thing and those trying to get you in their shops, starting to get on my nerves..
The next day we had the bus ride to Hoi An which is only 4 hours but very bumpy, so we hung around til 2 and it started absolutely chucking it down.. The closer we got as well you could see the flood aeas :s.. But as we pulled in it looked like i was in luck loads oof clothes shops 😊 finally i can ditch my man shorts.. hopefullly!!
When we got off the bus we were bombarded again and ended up in the one infront of us AGAIN, was nice though and has an indoor pool but we did have to share beds which is a bit annoying (Jacqueline is a fidgiter).. Once we'd sorted ourselves out we found a bar with happy hour 😊 and my dinner plus 4 vodka and oramges came to a total of 3.50 woop woop.. Paul got very drunk and ended
Hoi An
The beach.. up working behind the bar ha ha and i think Jacqueline started coming onto Pete hee hee.. I headed back early, luckily enough as it started thunder and lightening, when i came back down all the lights in the reception were off and as i went to go out the front door there was the owner asleep in the concrete floor by the door, scared the shite outta me, not such a good security mechanism as he didn't wake when i left or came back in?!
The next day it was still raining we had hoped to rent mopeds and go to the beach, but there was no way i was boarded one if the death mobiles in the rain!! Tried to go looking for clothes but quickly realised they were all tailors bit pricey.. Went for a stroll round the town which is very small and got to the river which was slightly flooded in parts.. That night went for food but the others were feeling a bit rough still after the night before so we went back for a rest before going out again.. Found a nice bar/restaurant and then onto the 'salsa club' which was small
Hoi An
The flooding.. and just full of english people..
Woke up today the day we are leaving Hoi An and it's stopped raining woop woop, so we packed up left our stuff at the hotel and rented some bikes.. It was just under 2 pound each no instruction needed they just gave us a helmet and away we went ha ha.. I was slightly nervous at first as it is mental on the roads but after a while got used to it.. Headed for the beach which was really nice and attempted to get the bikes through the sand (not one of our greatest plans).. Eventually got in and out and then went back through the town and onto the next.. Lost Jackie though assumed she'd gone back but she'd got lost, not sure how as it's a straight road but nevermind.. We went quite far into Danang i think then lost the feeling in my arse, caused by the holes in the road and constant vibrating of the bikes, so decided to go back.. Now waiting for the night bus which leaves at 18:30 and arrives at 06:00 im just hoping that the TV is broken i'm not sure if i
can take that again..
Oh yeah on the other bus we stopped at this place for a toilet break but i wouldn't cal it a toilet it was a room.. It had a rail round the edge to hold on a drain in the far corner and like a trench round the edge, also the door didn't close?! What the hell it was just rank, i didn't use it but on walking past some one woman in there and wanted to scratch my eyes out!!
