Well we left mumbai in a whirl of craziness (as the norm there!) - last night there we took a "romantic stroll" down marine drive (as described in the guide book) - we only lasted about 30secs before getting a cab as children and their parents were letting off fireworks all the way down - health and safety is not big here!

Took early morning train to goa - our names did not appear on the list for the train reservations but we got on any way and it worked out fine... 14 hours on a train was not all bad in the end. A little Indian girl practised her English on us asking if we liked it here and "what was the difference with england".

We went straight to Benaulim beach from Margao train station and have been staying at Anthys for the last 3 nights - lovely there... right on the beach - Pilch had a vindaloo every night (shark, pork and chicken!). There are little shops all along the beach and the owners try to drag you in every time you walk past - gets annoying in the end - every time they come towards you its: "hello, you from england, nice tattoos... come to my shop, i give you good prices... promise you come back, my name is daganham dave (this actually happened) remember me...." apart from this the beach is beautiful and we have had a very relaxing time. Last night we had a few drinks before bed and a man came over to speak to us and asked where we came from, we said england and he asked what county, so we told him and he said "where in horsham, brighton, worthing..." we said yes and he told us our postcode!! when I said I went to Bristol Uni he knew the postcode there too!! He has never been to England but he knows all about it... and his son is called Richard (apparently)!

We are becoming more weary of being ripped off as we are westerners. Today we got public bus to margao for 7 ruppes each instead of taxi journey that they tried to charge 250ruppes for... we think they add about 5times the price when they see us coming!

We are now in Panjim after taking the local bus... we are staying in Franks Inn (for good rooms) - cheapest we could find - we are slowly becoming budget backpackers!! You would all be proud! 😊)

Meeting up with Chloe (Tanya's friend) tomorrow morning and heading to Anjuna/ Vagator beach for some partying and some long awaited trance for Pilch!!

Enjoy the photos.... xx
