Day 2

OK, Beth and I had a lovely 2 hour drive to the farm in the early morning. I especially loved the change from rain to SNOW!!! That's really why I came to Germany, I couldn't wait for the snow any longer in Kalamazoo! 😊

On the way back home we stopped at a castle in Coburg. The air was so fresh and crisp. I had been falling asleep in the car, but the little walk and exploring woke me up. There is something incredibly still and peaceful about the air here. There seems to be a natural hush over everything. I love it!

We had a relaxed evening back at home. Beth and I got to Skype with Joel in Honduras, so that was a fun cross-cultural conversation. We also had a mixture of languages: English, Spanish, German and Italian. Fantastic!!

Then Beth gave me a cooking lesson, because she's a fabulous cook and I'm not. he he he 😊 SO we've added that to my list of reasons for being here:

1. Be with Beth
2. Learn German
3. Figure out how to cook.

Enjoy the random photos! I'm having
a great time being a tourist!!! And Beth is so patient with me as I take pictures of the craziest stuff.

It's road construction ... It's road construction ...

... but you don't need anyone to hold a "STOP" or "SLOW" sign ... cuz it's a light!
Now we can go ...Now we can go ...
Now we can go ...

OK, I just think this is ingenious! :)

This stuff must last forever! Beth says mostly houses on the former East Germany side have it.
