In Domincal we had checked into a place without a kitchen, tired of this our last night in Domincal we decided to go down the road to Domincal Backpackers, a true hostel with bunk beds and a kitchen. Although we were the only people staying at the house things appeared to be fine and we continued with our daily routine of lying on the beach and walking to town. As the evening settled in so did we, or at least we tried...We discovered that the lights in the bathroom did not work (in additional to the fact that there were no toilet seats!), this was a concerning find. The hostel didn’t exactly lock either, to get through the front doors, you had to buzz yourself in from the building next door. Also the upstairs was completely open, so if buzzing yourself in didn’t suit you, you could probably shimmy up a storm drain or palm tree and get inside. The stovetop didn’t work, so our dinner consisted of microwaved, beans, bread, and pineapple. The final straw, as if all this wasn’t enough. The room we were staying in had some sort of splatter on the wall, we didn’t want to jump to any conclusions…but we believe it was blood. At this point we conclude that we cannot possibly stay here. We run next door to the building that houses all the double rooms and ask the lady to switch rooms, surprisingly she obliges with no argument and we gather our stuff at record speed and settle in to a blood splatter free room where we have a toilet seat and the lights work.

oceanview cabins new and clean
