Hey everyone! I had such a good week! I went to Fleurine's friend Cindy's house for a couple of days... Cindy speaks English really well and so it made things really easy for me to stay with her for a couple of days. I had so much fun we went to the movies and played Guitar Hero (yeah I didn't even think they would have that here!) haha it was sooo much fun! I really liked staying with Cindy and talking about things without just having small talk because its hard to have more than a little bit of small talk with people in French because I dont have that much of a vocabulary to work with. We also listened to French 80s music and some English 80s music it was just all so much fun. As you can see Cindy and I took lots of pictures by the beautiful sea! Yesterday the host brother and I ran down the street to this Boulogne festival it had a bunch of traditional dancing and singing it was so interesting because the men were dressed as sailors (of course because its a huge fishing town) and the women were dressed like they dressed here many years ago it was just so cool to see what the old dances were like a long time ago here.

Today i'm going with my host mother and the host brother, cindy, and a few other people to visit old French Castles and things of that nature. It's a once a year thing in France where they open the doors of old beautiful french buildings to the public and im just so happy that I get the chance to be here for that....

Im now writing after the castle visits...

Wow, how beautiful is France? Can it get any better than this?? Haha The Castles/ Cathedrals were so beautfiul. We started off by walking to a castle where they had mass infront of the castle for the morning. It was like a traditional Mass but it had soo many people and with horses! The horses were there because the riders were dressed (in huntseat) like they would be many years ago all lined up waiting for the horses to be blessed. I have never seen animals blessed before but it was a very good experiance for me to see that. After seeing a few more amazing buildings we went for a picnic. It was so cool to have a picnic in the woods because it reminded me of in the states at Salt Springs. The picnic was really fun and I liked sharing a picnic with the host family and some of their friends. Afterwards we got to have a tour of a château which was really neat but I could not really understand wheat the tour guide was saying so Cindy had to translate most of what he was saying to me (she is soo nice to me) but yeah I just could not get over the fact that I was in such a beautiful place! It felt like I was inside a postcard everything was so overwhelmingly beautiful!
