That Daniel visited on Friday (last week)
Hi all. Another week has flown past so it must be time to update the blog again.
Last weekend was Heritage weekend in Guildford so most of the historical sites were free to look at over the weekend.

Daniel went and visited the air raid shelters on Friday afternoon (as all the Saturday tours were booked). They were built back in the World War 2 and could hold 1,000 people. They were never actually used for the shelters but were completely equipped to be used.

On the Saturday we went and did lots of touristy things. We visited the Holy Trinity Church and spent quite a while in there. The bell tower was open so we had a turn ringing the church bell. Daniel got flicked in the eye with the end of the rope, not so good, but apart from that it was quite fun. We also had a demonstration with 5 people ringing the bells. There is heaps of different ways you can ring the bells to make all sorts of tunes. We even got invited to join their bell ringing group on Wednesday nights!

We also visited the Guildford castle. The inside was a bit

These are the bells that we rung. They sit upside down when you have to start ringing them. They are 6 tonnes of bells up there.
of a letdown as there is not much to see and the view from the top is mainly just the cage and roof top. The outside is still impressive though.

We also looked at an old chapel built in 1816 and now converted into a Victorian schoolroom.

On Sunday we went and picked Mum and Dad up from the train station. It’s great to have family around again and we’ve been having lots of fun. We took Mum and Dad on the historical tour of Guildford that we did last Sunday. We even learnt heaps more as it was a different tour guide. It was quite funny because when we did the tour there were only 6 of us, but when we did the tour with Mum and Dad there was about 60 of us! Luckily they had a few more tour guides so we could split into smaller groups.

This week we haven’t done a whole lot...just work, eating and sleeping! Daniel managed to get work for a couple of days at a joiner in the next town! Yah! And this guy seems really keen to keep him on, he just needs to find some space.

With the lovely gardens.
He told Daniel he could work outside if it wasn’t raining (that means he won’t be working too often!). Apparently there are 4 of them in a space the size of Daniel’s workshop back at home. Hopefully it will eventuate into more work as they have heaps of work for Daniel to do.

On a side note, we’ve even had nice weather the entire time that Mum and Dad have been here - hooray!

Tomorrow we are off to London and are going to see Chicago, a West End theatre show at night and see the sights during the day.

Great Time
Well, unlike others, we know you are having a great time because we can see it first hand. We have loved being here with you both and sharing not only your 'cozy' flat but some of your adventures. The 9 days are slipping by fast and soon time to leave you in peace again. Thanks for putting up with us. It is great to be able to read of things in your blog that we have seen and can recognise. No rain for the whole week we have been here so far - a near drought I imagine. Take care. Much love, Mum and Dad
