This was Lloyds Idea... Zimbabwe!!!!!
Ever since high school my friends Gadi Elliot, Marty, and Tyler have all screemed that beautiful word. I didn't really even know where it was until recently. To all those who still don't know where it is. It's in Central Africa.
This country is Struggling to survive. The current exchange rate is 80,000 to $1. When the largest bill is 20,000 that's kind of a pain to deal with. I felt quite rich walking aroudn with 2.4 million Zims. The equivalent to 30 Us DOllars.
We decided go the Casino in town, wher the limits for black jack were a dollar a hand. I ended up winning $1 million Zims ($13 US). Unfortunately the Zimbabwen economy is not very stable and they don't allow you to conver your winnings into US dollars. Oh Shux. This allowed me to go the markety with my winnings. WOO HOO.
This market is very small but extrmely overwhelming. I ended up buying a ton of stuff. Lloyd and I ended the day bargaining for this massive 60lbs statue for the people who put us up in Capetown. You'll be happy to know that We used our best bargaining powers and
got the guy down from 15,000,000Zims to 3.5 million not bad eh? It turned out that we were $1.25 short and the guy came all the way back to our hotel with us. We ended up buying him a beer at ourhotel but the manager wouldn't allow him in. He said it was a "security" issue. Poor guy,
All in all Vic Fall was spectacular, even if it wasn't full because it's summer. We did go White water rafting down the Zambezi which was amazing. Our boat flipped over in a Class 4 rapid and we got to swim the whole way. Our guide told us when we could swim and when we couldn't because there were CROCODILES in the water. We saw a crocodile laying on the side of the river basking in the sun. Don't worry he was only 6 FEET LONG!!! I don't have all my pictures to put up so here's just a little sample..More to come
