Tango is not like your regular 2-step, it requires elegance and poise - something we discovered we don't have after being in Buenos Aires for only 2 days!!

First things first, we enrolled ourselves into an hour and a half long tango lesson, and afterwards, feeling fairly confident we headed onto a local tango club... lets just say we aren´t quite ready to woo the crowds just yet! particuarly if we continue to step on our partner´s toes at every opportunity!

We visited two of the cities most renowned tango hotspots - San Telmo and Caminito, La Boca (also home to Boca Juniors, whose match tickets were sold out to Ann Marie´s major disappointment!)
While San Telmo is filled with numerous antique shops, it was the art shops that took our fancy, however, after looking at the prices and attempting to haggle them down, we realised its not quite East Street market!
We did stumble across some cool graffiti and muriels - one in particular, of Che Guevara, that was located on a side street that was quite impressive!
In contrast, we found Caminito - famed for its rainbow coloured zinc houses that were developed thanks to local poor folk who acquired free tins of paint from ships arriving at the port - to be an area buzzing with artisans and tango dancers...

Buenos Aires by day offers a lot of sights for the traveller, such as the Jardin Botanico in Palermo, but perhaps the most strikingly memorable was the Cementerio de la Recoleta (Recoleta cemetery).
The cemetery is the resting place to a vast amount of corpses that are presented in rows and rows of mausoleums made out of marble and other materials.
Here you can find the grave of Eva Peron (Evita).

BA by night has also got a lot to offer, from clubs that start at 2am to tango dinner shows for the sophisticated travellers out there! Definitely a place we´ll visit again soon!

Anyways, we´re off to pack for Christmas and New year in Brazil! So Merry Christmas and Happy new year till the next time! xxx
