We finally arrived after a 12hr sleepless flight although we got free drinks all the way (B A Rocks!).The first thing taht hits you when you get out of the aiport is the heat, then the strange smells and then the screeching voices of the Thai women trying to get you into taxis to Pattaya (sex central),we opted for a taxi meter instead (damn that lisa!, just kidding). Arrived at the Ramada hotel we have to say was top notch (lisa wants to mention the free dressing gowns, slippers and a roof top swimming pool, Well posh!). We know now why people told us that we wouldn't spend long in Bangkok but that it is a place you have to experience atleast once. On the second day we decided to do some sight seeing by limo (which here means a blacked out Volvo!), our designated driver was a guy called Uncle Sam who for 700baht (about 10quid) drove us around for the day. We visited Wat Pho which is the oldest temple in bangkok and home to a 45m long reclining Buddha which was well impressive, then onto the Grand Palace was was equally as beautiful.Bangkok traffic is crazy, no rules whatsoever, hundreds of motorcycles, mopeds and tuk tuks weaving in and out, seen whole familys on just one bike. We decided that we wanted to get out of Bangkok the next day and head for the beaches.
