Can’t believe its been over a week! Got up yesterday morning and went to the gym for a bit. Decided I need to figure out how to ask “how much does this weigh” in Greek haha.

When I was coming out of my first class I heard the guy behind me say that Tom Brady got hurt in the Kansas City game?!?! Someone please inform me of the details! This whole no internet/TV thing in the apartment is causing me serious football withdrawals…

After class went to “Planet Home” to buy a few things for my room, stopped at Starbucks to do homework for a while, came back and finally got completely unpacked from my suitcase, which I have to admit felt pretty good.

Last night we all went to a dinner party at the President of CYA’s home in Kifissia, a very idyllic suburb of Athens. My god he has a nice house! His back yard is probably about the same size as mine back home but with far better landscaping. We were served souvlaki and veggie kabobs with pitas, tzatziki, tomatoes and feta (of course!). Got to meet a couple of the professors as well as other students. The President’s son was quite possibly the cutest little kid I’d ever seen. He was trying to show off for us, attempting to climb one of the trees, falling, and then kicked the tree and yelled at it in Greek. I’m guessing he was around 6 years old. On the ride back, the room mates and I all agreed that we need to go to a soccer game in the near future - an experience I’m sure I won’t soon forget.

We officially have reservations to stay in Santorini this Thursday, Friday and Saturday night. Although we have yet to buy ferry tickets…may need to do that soon. Am very excited to finally get to one of the islands, I’ll be sure to take lots of pictures. It sounds like we aren’t going to leave until 8pm on Thursday night, sleep on the boat and arrive in Santorini around 6am Friday morning…we’ll see how enjoyable that will be. I have a feeling the island will be worth it, and sleeping under the stars on the deck of a boat may actually be pretty cool. In talking to people during class today, I think a lot of other CYA-ers are also planning to go, so at least we won’t be attempting to navigate completely on our own haha.

Went to the gym after class this afternoon, it has inspired me to make my millions by marketing a new style of working out in the states: bikram weight lifting. Also based on my glorious foray into bikram yoga at school last year. (In order to fully appreciate my extreme sarcasm here, please Google “bikram yoga.”)

Stopped at the grocery store on the way back for dinner and was pleasantly surprised to find sushi! Granted, it was the pre-made who knows how long ago type (yes, I did check the expiration date on it), I was willing to take my chances considering it meant I wouldn’t have to cook anything. It actually wasn’t too bad, not to say it was comparable to “Suzuki” in Rockland either, but - depending on how my stomach reacts to it later on - I may go for it again in a pinch.
