This is where the rock gets crushed down from the superpit.
So if your going to come to a mining town you might as well get a job on the mines, so thats what i did. I was a trade assistant which is a glorified gopher, but i didn't mind as the blokes i was working with were a good laugh and the money was pretty good. Our job was to repair the mills that crush and grind the dirt and rocks (that contain the gold) down. It was only a short term contract so after 3 days i was left to chill and wait for another job.

Next mining job, this was at the nickel smelter and was a similar job as the last but more indepth, and it was nights which turned out to be a real doss as the bosses were on days so everyone took their time. I was working with two boilermakers Steve and darren who were so laid back they were almost horizontal.

After that job i spent alot of the time chilling and spending my money in the exchange which is the local skimpy bar, which normally has a live band on at the weekends.
