It's the eyes!
She kept whatching us from the window! Hola mi amigos. Hope all is well with you all...
Sorry for lack of blogness in the last few weeks, no excuse, apart from having lots of fun. We miss you all.
We have left Buenos Aires (which is sad) and now are in Puerto Madryn, about 1000 miles from Bs As. It´s nice to be near the sea. Puerto Madryn is a little seaside town (Think Western Super Mare!). We have come here to see Right Whales, Killer Whales, Elephant seals and Sea Lions. Our first few hours here we went for a walk and about 10 Right Whales were breast feeding in the bay. We were about 30 meteres from them. It was very cute seeing Andy getting Excited like a 10 year old. They are pretty amazing mammals. We have been out on many boat trips to see more and more and more! Very exciting. But alas no sea elephants and 5 or 6 sea lions. It's not the season, why oh why do the Lonley Planet talk so much crap...
We went to a little bit of Wales. Had "Welsh" afternoon tea in a very kitsch tea rooms (Oh er!). After we left
Spooky
Someones got to look over you at Cementerio de la Recoleta we run for the nearest bucket because it was vile! Bad tea and bad cakes, errrrr! We went to a little village called Guiman (!) about 100 kms from Puerto Madryn. Very small, very inbreed and a very odd day. There was a park of recycled "stuff" which was like walking through the valley of plastic, spooky.
We left Buenos Aires on Sunday. Which is sad because we love it here, it is a brillant city. Open 24 hours with a population that likes to eat, drink, shop and party! We spent our days with Spanish lessons, eating and homework! The lessons where hard because we have never learned a launague properly before. But we have learnt a little basic Spanish to get as along in shops, resturants and have very broken chats! We hope it will get better as the weeks go by. We are planning some more lessons in Peru and Central America. In the mean time we will chat with anyone who is prepared to be patient with us!
BA, You could be in Bareclona, London or Paris. Shopping is brillant, lots of style and lush clothes! Bars, clubs and resturants open late
Neighbours...
A typical block on Plaza Dorrego. and the food is amazing. There is a real warmth in the city and people are very freindly. Maybe this is what makes the city not european! Andy sneezed in the streeet and someone said bless you....little things like this make all the difference.
There are a group of brillant women called Madres de Plaza de Mayo (The mothers of Plaza De Mayo). They have been protesting every Thursday for the last 30 years because their daughters and sons went missing during "the dirty war". Which happended during the dicatorship and they are still demanding a explaination. Here are some English and Spanish links to find out more and maybe get involved.

Things we like about Bs As (as the locals say!)
1. Music and dancing. Tango is part of everyday life and it has made a resugrance in the last few years. Old and young dance in the square where we stay every Sunday. Busckers and bands play on the streets and even our neighbour plays the paino and sings.
2. Steak, wow. Cuts with a knife and feels like velvet...Yummy!
3. Vino. Even the red
The local church
Our local church in Bs As, very grand. is lush, like drinking grape juice and soooo cheap.
4. Freindly and warm people. People have been soooo welcoming and lovely.
5. Nightlife, bars and resturants. Cool, trendy, cosy and big...
6. Clothes and shoes. Which makes for much shopping. Very trendy here, gonna have to send some stuff home...
7. Street performers
8. San Telmo Sunday market
9. The subte. The underground and you get touched up. It's line B at about 5pm, to get the most touching.
10. The Collectivo. The bus service is cheap and covers all corners of the city.
11. Our flat in San Telmo
12. Our teacher of Spanish. She is soooo patient with me and Andy
13. Cementerio de la Recoleta. In the posh neighborhood, Recoleta. High walls surround this Cementry, where dead rest in style, just like they would on the streets of BA. It's a mini cit statues and houses with generations of families in. It's the place to be seen dead, along with Evita.
We have not really seen much of the city, just the walk from our house to the school and many shops and restruants,
I can see the sea at Puerto Madyrn
Hmmm, Nice to be near the sea again. Oh, it´s just like Western. clubs, pubs and tango places! When we get back from our trip we are going to be tourists for 2 days...I would move here tomorrow, there's a brillant pace here and it's very relaxed at the same time.
Well, in about an hour we have a 24 hour coach trip to El Calafata, deep down in Patagonia. It's Glacier city! The trip from Bs As to Puerto Madryn was pain free. Had a seat that turned into a bed and lots of wine and films. Take National Express and feed it speed and you get Argentina coaches. I think Andy will get a shock in Peru and Central America.
Well amigos must go! Sorry about the spelling mistakes and will send emails etc in the next few days.
So, what's going on in Eastenders and how's X Factor?
LOVE AND HUGS
Paulo and Andy xxx

I'd read about that little Welsh place. It looks so cool. Pity they don't serve twinings!! I luurrve that pic of the whale. It's amazing. Are you sure you didn't buy it and are passing it off as your own? Miss you both, glad to hear you're having a whale of a time! ...I just couldn't help myself! N xxxx
